Yes, intake mani has been the only real issue. I’ve owned cars that have eaten water pumps before. This is like my 6th German, so I’m no stranger to CV boots. The intake has been a bitch and a half, but I’m going with the newest revision, so I’m crossing my fingers that this is the final fix.

The intake manifold is garbage. It’s 9-12 hours of work to replace and, depending on where you go, that’s not cheap at all. The manifold is on its 3rd (I think) revision and reports of issues are way, way down. I’m just finalizing plans to replace mine (dreaded intake runner flap error).

Other than that ...it ate a CV…

There’s zero video evidence that he lost the ball at any point. On the first replay (pre-realization of disgusting injury), they show him on his side and his arm is clearly under the ball. He didn’t let go (to clutch his destroyed leg) until he was basically flat on his back.
