It’s silly to buy a Star Wars game to play as Star Wars characters?

Grinding 40 hours for characters that were available out of the box in BF1 is fine? Nah.

EA, why you gotta do this, man. This game is fun. The bones of it are great. The shooting mechanics are on point. It’s fucking gorgeous. It absolutely nails the Star Wars feel and atmosphere. It’s packed with content. It’s vastly improved over the first one. You’ve got everything you need to make this a fantastic

Skins in Overwatch are literally only cosmetic, though, i.e., they don’t give anyone any advantages, like collecting hats IRL.

You’ve officially cemented yourself as my favorite author on Kotaku since that last loot box article and this one makes me love you more.

I have zero problem with people wasting their money on cosmetic crap. I have a yuuge problem with pay2win items. Looks like I won’t be buying this one.

Okay, some further editorial.

Loot crates have always been a moral issue that the industry (publishers, devs, journalists, influencers, and whoever else) has mostly ignore or dismissed and that’s incredibly screwed up. Even cosmetic focused crates, which don’t affect gameplay, use specific audio/visual cues and

Aaaaand it’ll still sell a billion copies and nothing will change. Because in 2017, after almost a decade now of gamers “complaining” about DLC and pay to win shit, the vast majority of them still buy the games anyway, teaching these companies nothing. Yes, there will be exceptions (which I’m sure people who respond

It’s valuable corporate information that they own. Why give rivals any info when it’s of no advantage? Plus, as you say, inevitably some shows underperform, why generate those headlines?

Indeed, please share this compelling knowledge that you alone seem to possess.

I’m totally pretending, but just for shits & gigs, what is the reason so all these normies can stop acting like they don’t know.

I picked it up as I wanted a pulp break from the usual new wave SF I was reading at the time. It was a fun read and it said it was going to be a film. I ran around telling all my friends that they had to see this thing.

Here’s the way ALL games like Battlefront should work:

- Extensive single player campaign
- Each chapter of the campaign unlocks new weapons/skills/armor to use in multi-player
- By the time everything is unlocked, the player is a master of the controls and can enjoy the multiplayer experience a lot more

Alright, let’s start betting now what the ‘Battlefront III’ marketing will look like in two years.

-More multiplayer modes than Battlefront II!
-A deeper single player experience
-More DLC planned - including Star Wars Ep IX content!
-2X as many iconic Star Wars weapons
-1.5X as many customization options
-Immersive

SW Battlefront was chaotic and not in a fun way. I picked it up and started playing after the beta, but I regret the decision. It felt like it was impossible to contribute and after about 15 hours of play, I felt like I knew as much about how to play as I did at the first hour.

I like the single player campaign idea. I’m looking forward to playing it. Yes you pique my interest with canonical story. TBS, I want to be an Alliance soldier/pilot/starship captain rather than an Imperial.

I think it’s very obvious that Battlefront 2015 was rushed to ride the hype of Star Wars episode 7. I think Battlefront 2 is looking solid. I still havent preodered since I’m waiting on reviews. But from what I’ve seen i will probably be picking it up on black friday where it will probably be around $35 given EA’s

Note: Numbers aren’t everything. The previous Battlefront game launched with nine multiplayer modes. This game is launching with five. EA doesn’t have a chart for that in the video of course, but the knock on those nine modes last time is that some weren’t that hot. Five’s a decent start, and EA is teasing a “live

I guess the issue for me is that EA/DICE didn’t “Whoops! We released a game that didn’t have enough content!” on accident. They knew what they were releasing, they knew the Star Wars fervor was at peak pitch at the time due to Ep. 7 nearing release, and they knew that no matter how much they sold, people would buy a

The fact it has a campaign makes it enough of a game for me to check it out this time around.
