An amazing achievement, and he should be proud. But man, that is an unexciting speedrun to watch. His reaction made it worthwhile.

Someone in the twitch comment: “I missed it can you do it again?” LMAO

Outrage monkeys...roll out.

Err you could pay for crystals = loot crates = cards = progression. No?

This is like the most harmless way of cheating if it’s even cheating at all. He’s not using any outside software or hardware to gain competitive advantage. The only downside to what he is doing is that it could hurt his teams performance.

Is spending money cheating? Seems just as fair to me.

Yeah. Writers are ruining the franchise...by reporting on EA’s decisions.

Bungie did admit to employing real behavioral psychology in finding a gameplay loop people will come back to in Destiny. Whether or not that extends to microtransactions I haven’t found any source online, but I sincerely wouldn’t doubt it. What with the patent by Activision designed to psychologically manipulate

Yeah, because if it were literally “game breaking,” more BS-tolerant folks such as yourself wouldn’t want to play the game. Their goal is to cut as close to the bone as possible without alienating the core of people who are basically fine with microtransactions encroaching on their games.

Nice factual timeline of events summary. The facts truly showcase what a shit show this has been and how corporate greed has sunk to new lows.

My suspicion is that loot boxes will not be brought back for the remainder of the “first run” of the game. If the game gets a major DLC expansion (feels unlikely at this point) loot boxes may come back.

Yeah but now they’re all gonna be shit. Or at the very least, decent games weighted down with whatever corporate baggage EA decides to add onto them.

Key word being now, I will always remember EA for their slimy as fuck move with PvZ2, it started good but as time went on they keep releasing level where you can’t progress without using some paid-only plant

They’re just going to wait for the heat to die down. They took microtransactions out of the game that they shoe-horned them into, so they’re the good guys now. Christmas is around the corner and a new Star Wars movie on the horizon, so this game will flood into houses across the land. And then they flip the switch and

The only way I’d be okay with them being reinstated is if they were purely for cosmetic gain and very little to no in-game multiplayer advantage.

1) Disney buys Star Wars (LucasFilm as a whole) for infinity billion Republic credits

I will be playing a Battlefront 2 over Christmas break with my brother, but it won’t be this one.

All this talk of ‘temporarily’ removing the microtransactions just fills me with a sense of trepidation - with all the bad press, bad reviews, and drop off in sales with regards to this, how can EA even think they’ll get away with trying to re-instate them at a later date (and include them in future releases not

When the first Battlefront 2 (really, fuck this trend of just starting again when it comes to numbering) has more features and better progression then a game that comes out ten years later you really have to wonder how EA shit the bed this hard.
