Slower??
Slower??
This was something I was thinking when getting a track car. Especially since GT3 cups are even cheaper than what I paid for my car. I ultimately chose a GT3 rs because:
that's called a used elise

I think it also depends on whether you actually use the paddles. Most people with a DCT never use them. I've driven 430's and 911's on track with paddles and felt involved ONLY because I was actually using the paddles and not just leaving it in auto mode so I think the DCT involvement is a little blown out of…
they are easily able to do 45mph+ this is what keeps the 0-60 times low. Also you seem to forget like all lovers of DCT's is that a DCT is just yet another "performance mod" to going fast. Its not the end all be all that you DCT guys seem to think...Going FAST in a car amounts to a number of things....
This is not true and people need to understand what a GT3 is......IT is a homologation car.....because its a homologation car it's not suppose to be the fastest car on the road because of RACE RULES. F1 cars are not the fastest cars that they could be because the race rules keep them from being that....Same thing with…

What about the people who have specially ordered the OLD zonda AND have a manual transmission fitted.
they are about homologation which mean RACE RULES...which means that has nothing to do with being the fastest. F1 could be faster but they are hampered by race regulations.
every GT3 made since 1973 was made with a manual transmission and EVERY SINGLE ONE SOLD OUT!!.. They even made a new Cayman GT4 with a MANUAL ONLY, but tell me again how no one buys manuals and how high end manufacturers are dropping manuals.
not so with say the GT3.....every single GT3 that was EVER MADE from 1973 up to the 991 was a manual and THEY ALL SOLD OUT!!!

The cayman will die off before the 911 ever will.
You can make your choice but I advise you research maintenance before you buy. I bought mine with steels and use the extra money(for every rotor job) to pay for private track instruction. (source: www.ecstuning.com) this place is a little cheaper at $9400 as set (http://www.suncoastparts.com/)
I've driven a few nice cars on track but I've owned a 997 S and now a 997.2 GT3RS....https://www.flickr.com/photos/rj20fiv…
I have to deal with that in the midwest so I hear and feel your pain. I had to replace 2 tires technically 3 since the second time I got a tit on the sidewall the fronts were worn enough to just warrant replacing both fronts on my 997 S. The RS tires are even wider front and rear. I'm sitting on 325 rears and the…
you'd be surprised at least I was on how compliant the car is on the street. I actually think that My 997 S in sport mode was way harsher than my RS in sport mode.
but since you optioned the carbon brakes your first rotor swap is going to cost you 5k each. So now you have to sell your BMW and hope that the remodeled kitchen brought your home value up enough so you can spend 20k on JUST rotors because you had to have ceramics.
