Ah, cool. Then I’m looking forward to giggling like a schoolgirl when Coulson shows up and the Avengers are like “Uhhhhhh” and Coulson’s like “Yeah, uh, I have a few things to explain”

That’s an interesting thought. I was thinking sort of the opposite—Disney needed another season so that Coulson dies (again) before Infinity War. Then it would be less incongruous if someone mentions Coulson being dead—it would make sense to the people who only watch the movies, and would make sense to people watching…
Coulson and Mike had a lot of history - from Coulson getting Mike detained to Mike getting Phil abducted. It was both friends and enemies and sllies and I think Coulson was more likely to believe someone wearing Mike’s face than Ward’s. And Peterson was around from episode one. I thought that was a nice circle.
Apparently Jeph Loeb was teasing that Infinity War may see them find out Coulson’s fate.
That is a wonderfully edited promo for all the episodes. Dang.
Fanservice or not, the FitzSimmons wedding was the real tearjerker moment for me. They are the heart and soul of the show, and while I could have done without the explicit confirmation that Deke is their grandson, it was a welcome injection of pure happiness for just a couple of minutes.
- Ya know, over the past few seasons, I constantly say to myself when watching “Ya know, Deathlok would sure be useful right about now.” And he finally showed up! :D
She was the dumbest character. I would’ve liked more Angarr The Screamer though. That episode makes me sad that we still haven’t gotten The Masters of Evil/Thunderbolts in the MCU.
Deke knocking back Zimas and gorging on onions rings was a dang delight. As was his saying the only thing a time traveller should when arriving somewhere in the past.
My personal theory is that Simmons slashed his face on purpose. Recall he had a servant killed for being similarly marred. She went for the deep hurt, not the kill.
Now if only he punched a diamond wall for years...now that would be the true long way round.
Daisy’s implant is apparently under her skin, like the ID tag thing they all have on their wrists. Also poor Fitz isn’t getting the recognition he deserves for traveling through time.
Also, more football banter between them. With Radcliffe gone, Fitz needs his footy bantz!
Next time she needs to ride into the post-apocalyptic sunset atop a sedan chair made from the bones of outsiders that asked for help.
My mom actually brought up a point about his powers possibly being able to put the planet back together...
-Fitz put a lot of trust in Enoch when he went into cryo-freeze and left his body under Enoch’s control. That would seem to make Enoch a real ally, but I wonder if what he’s done so far is in furtherance of some as-yet unknown goal separate from those of the SHIELD team.
-It’s Marauder protocol, Fitz!
-Has anyone else…
I too was surprised they wouldn’t try to keep someone whose superpowers don’t require CGI for longer but I suppose he was too useful.
Is Eve Harlow becoming typecast as too noble to survive dystopian futures?
I sorta wish they kept the telepath alive over another person with essentially psychic powers like Daisy. They don’t have the budget for rock powers to play much different than a very big boulder-sized gun.
I love that Patrick Fabian just waltzed into this episode, playing a campy Star Trek: TOS villain. I half-expected him to bet 400 quatloos on May.
