My audi 2.8l v6 only had an intake and it sounded soooo sexy.

Please post more slack conversations. This is great.

You think a camera is better in snow?

The VW VR6 guys might have a bone to pick with this comment.

This. The louder a VQ gets, the worse it sounds.

Kristen is correct, and her coworkers are bad people with bad takes and bad ears.

I knew somebody would do that no matter how carefully I worded it so I decided just to lob the softball and let people take their hacks.

We’ll see if he’s right in the coming year

uh the VQ is one of THE BEST sounding V6s alongside the Audi 30 valve (ie. 2.7 turbo), Alfa Busso V6 and Jag AJ v6.  Honorable mentions to the vr6 as its kinda a half-breed and the old v6 Detroit Diesels for being the best sounding oil burners.

It's a V6, they all sound terrible, save the VR

The VQ sounds bad? Well maybe with that crappy exhaust the previous stance-owner installed.

I definitely feel like the minority on Jalop. I like the sound of the VQ exhaust (in stock form), and I like the 350/370z. They are simple, RWD cars that might be a little overpriced brand new, but offer a hell of a lot of fun for the money buying one slightly used.

Oh, for sure! I have a Rover Sport V6, and I wish it had the F-Type sport exhaust. Hwwwmmmm. I love that motor, too!

Correct take. It’d be better to keep the resonators (hell, maybe add a second in series) and try options for the stock muffler. 350/370Zs are the worst with aftermarket exhausts. “Loud as hell inside as stock - NOW with additional droning at all speeds!!!”.

A-fuckin-men about Harleys. Im so sick of those dickbags revving the piss out of them at every possible opportunity

“Siren call of chinstrap beards everywhere”

VQs can sound good. When they aren’t loud as all ****. They have a burbly quality that is much more interesting than the usual V6 noise.

Didn’t watch the video. I have better things to do with my life than consume Hoonigan content. But I think the biggest issue with “engine sound” today is the obsession with exhaust noise. Doesn’t anybody know intakes make noise too? And a proper intake wail is far more exciting and glorious than any woofly exhaust.

Honestly I think they sound OK with the stock exhaust at low-mid rpm.  Kind of trumpety.  The problem is when they’re going full-throttle at higher rpm they sound really thrashy and gravelly, like something’s wrong with the engine.

people underestimate how good resonators are. If your vehicle has a resonator, its probably there because it needs it.  This is a common mistake you see when people replace their exhaust in their land cruiser 80 series.  They dump the resonator and get drone for days, no matter what muffler you use.
