I’m sure a clean one of these would draw a small crowd at a Cars & Coffee event in a few years. I personally have a thing for well-kept examples of otherwise forgettable cars.

I’m amazed at how many NPs this is getting. I think it’s priced maybe $1500 too high, based upon its supposed “rarity.” That said, there’s probably someone somewhere that would pay that.

It may not be the most glamorous or desirable car out there...

Way more Beretta’s with manuals. It was a great looking car but I never knew one that didn’t burn and/or leak oil.

But, tell us how you really feel.

Here that engine made a respectable 210-horsepower.

Can some gazillionaire please buy all of these and crush them for the betterment of mankind?

Mercedes has been calling the wagon versions of the CLA and CLS “Shooting Brake” for years (to my chagrin).

Does that mean there was a Ford Pinto Shooting Brake at one time? I think they mistakenly called it a station wagon.

This is all marketing and semantics because their clientele doesn’t want to say “i own a wagon” and sound like a plebe to their rich homies.

“It’s because the words you say mean specific things.”

So, then, the oncoming Tesla “roadster” isnt really a roadster at all, is it? But rather a targa?

Coupe = two door car. Sedan = four door car. 2-door hardtop = 2-door car with no B pillar. 4-door hardtop = 4-door car with no B pillar. The wagon and shooting brake distinction is new to me but I like it.

This is painful. Sedans are coupés. Wagons are shooting brakes. Cars are SUVs. Up is down. Down is up. Good is evil. Evil is good. Is nothing sacred anymore?!

“At first sight, I thought “hey, that’s a shitty Photoshop, look at that chrome bar that’s way too thick...” Yikes.

At the very least, they could’ve tried to hide and reposition the rear door handles. Wouldn’t make it any more shooting brake, but it would make it appear less wagon.

For the sake of the argument, how to define this ?
(also Jason could you ungray me ? longtime lurker !)

Ehhhh, semantics. Though you are technically right, I think the more important thing here is that this is a very nice looking conversion to /wagon /brake /extended breadvan. I applaud it’s creation regardless of what they would like to call it.

I think the author is forgetting that the words and their meanings are constantly evolving as Society changes and New Concepts are developed even the dictionary definitions of words change over time.
