Where did you find my demographic information?

Because Diamond Joe only deals in the good stuff.

This was a really big deal at the time. GM was sued by owners who weren’t told that their cars did not contain engines from the division named on the trunk lid. Partly GMs fault, really, on how they handled it.

He’s a bit too old, but to watch him bitch slap Trump in debates will be delicious.

Actually, ‘cretin’ is a medical term that involves growth deficiencies due to congenital hypothyroidism.

I like the car but for about 10G less.

I’m of an age where I remember these cars well, not necessarily with fondness, but as a reminder of a happily misspent young adulthood.

The Fyre Festival of political crime families.

The Mondeo’s always been a Western European car. And we currently get the Mondeo over here as the Fusion, and two generations before that as the Contour. It’s designed to be European first.

It’s not that simple. Most roads in NA an F150 will not even approach it’s lateral g limit. Many of the older roads where it would are so full of potholes that a truck like a raptor will carve up the corners quicker than a track focused cars. On a race track or the Nurinburgring the track focused car wins but people

It makes sense on paper but I wonder if the actual data supports that line of thinking. A lot of research I’ve read (the joys of grad school), show that for younger generations brand loyalty isn’t an important deciding factor on purchases. This makes me wonder if Ford was looking at their data and seeing a significant

Dad will just come in and put her in an EcoSport? Or maybe an Escape even?

Every road can take advantage of that extra .23g available, if you’re brave enough. 😂

Agreed. Somehow, Ford has been selling the Focus with the incredibly crappy DPS6 transmission since 2012 and last month, they STILL sold 16,000. That’s 16,000 people who were duped into buying a bad car. Imagine how many more people would be willing to buy if they knew the new car was even just mildly decent?

I know this is the European perspective, but here cars like the Escape offer less cargo room than the much cheaper equivalent car (Focus), as we tend to buy the latter as a wagon.

I totally agree. The whole point of being a full line manufacturer, is that you keep the customers inside your showroom.

I see more Focusses... Focus’... Focii? Around here than I do Escapes and Ecosports. In fact the Escapes sit on the lot with massive discounts because nobody wants one. This is probably an anomaly, I know. Let me look up the U.S. sales numbers for both for the past three years...

It seams like nobody does in the real world. For curiosity I looked it up and a crew cab f-150 4x4 will do .73 g on the skid pad and .59g on a figure 8. The mustangs GT does better at .96g and .84g respectfully. The fusion hybrid does .79g on the skid pad and a figure 8 at .58g at the figure 8 the escape does .81

Here’s a thought: the Fiesta and Focus, in hatchback form (along with pretty much every other car with a hatch these days), after years and years of hoods and beltlines slowly inching up, with wheel diameters slowly expanding, almost was a crossover already.

The auto manufacturers not only to blame but us the buyers are contributing the killing of cars. Think about it, who the fuck want to buy a car if you want a SUV and CUV for more room? You think these SUV and CUV are off roading for the street?
