Having worked convenience stores for 20 years, I always make a point of being polite & kind to anyone working with the public. Kindness and patience DO pay off ( tho that’s not why I do it ), as people notice and give me extra/miss-ordered stuff. I enjoy that because it’s unexpected and a little bonus for the day.

Taco is silly as well. No mater how bad my day was, if I glanced at a taco caliper next to me in traffic, I would absolutely laugh.

Before I saw your comment I was thinking maybe an Escher interlocking pattern like the birds&fish one. Now I'm firmly in the taco camp. That would flat rock.

212? Ha!

I was idly wondering how the tracks affect off-throttle oversteer myself

That’s such a perfect troll for an autocross day!

RIght?

I have to ask: is it as stunning in person? I have long thought that these are the most beautiful non one-off cars ever made, so I'm asking if your opinion of them changed in any way when you beheld one personally

And those pics just reinforce my opinion that the wheels on the new one absolutely ruin any suggestions that it is an homage to the beauty that is the 57SC Atlantic. Someone didn’t just drop the ball; they freakin’ spiked it into a shredder

They came to my little burg last fall. Just as campy & fun as I remember from the ‘80s

Me too: could hear the gravel pinging, the bumper >just< kiss the rocks, and the exhaust snarl through there

I think the only rational response to that threat is downshift and floor it

This is silly and pointless and I love it. Major fizziness

Rally it. Run it stock until it breaks, then go Group B. It’s the car’s entire reason for being, after all.

QUICK!

Having maintained multiple S-series Saturns over about a decade I have a grudging respect for them. They’re easy to work on ( you can change a transmission solenoid in ~1&1/2 hours: no spitting the case!!), and are pretty decent if cared for.

Nice!

I’m with you: my preferred work truck is the stripper ‘05 single-cab Silverado with 243k. I’ll take the ‘17 F350 4wd if I’m going to a particularly tough cell site & need the grip, but, even though it’s much more cushy ( and way better stereo ), the little Silverado is much easier to get around in. And I don’t need a

QuadraJet

Yes. First mechanical ‘real task’ beyond changing brakes was rebuilding a 2-barrel carb on a ‘79 Mustang. Got idle, power( some: 6-cylinder), and fuel mileage back.
