You also have to remember at this time a lot people didn’t have internet and there wasn’t really a great way to share these things. I was right in the middle of the Pokémon boom as a 8-9 year old. Played the games, bought cards, had other books, when to the movies, even bought a couple of VHS’s. I do not remember this…

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect better graphics now that they’ve moved from an underpowered handheld to a standard console.

Finally made it to the post game where you can get the 2 starters you didn’t pick in the beginning 

As far as I can tell, most sidequests in this game just arent worth doing. I can gather the materials for the rewards faster than it takes to do most of them.

Obviously for quests like the Shiny Ponyta and Sinnoh starters and whatever the whisp collectathon is leading up to are another story.

Because a generation of gamers who don’t actually remember playing blocky PS2 games on a crappy 20" CRT TV are now arriving on the internet. It’s just become a mythical reference-point for “old”.
