The strange thing is the noise is sort-of-but-not-really there, as if the drivers are shifting before the fun stuff starts. I suspect that if the engines could rev to... say... 17K or 18K instead of the current 12K (?), it’d go some way to make things goosebump-inducing again.

Funny you should mention it, McLaren supposedly looked into taking over the F1 engine works from BMW when they pulled out of the sport at the end of 2009. No idea why they didn’t follow through with it.

Not sure if this was a thing with all of them, but me and my dad once found out the hard way that the lugnuts on an Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Junior are a but weird. On the right-hand side of the car, it’s the usual righty-tighty, lefty-loosey affair, but on the left side of the car it’s righty-loosey, lefty-tighty. If I

Now playing

I honestly don’t see the big deal personally. Once anyone delivers a rendition as poor as this example of the South African national anthem, let me know though.

This is just incredible, it really is. I remember BMW said what amounts to “we can’t get any more power than this from the S54" when the M3 CSL had its run, which segwayed into the E92 having a V8 instead of the inline 6.

Lol, nope the second one :)

Kinja don’t you fail me like this please: (EDIT: So apparently Kinja is refusing me to link a pic to said car...)

To me, the best looking car ever produced in the history of ever is the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.

I grew up knowing about normal cars, sports cars, and supercars. Back then, a sports car would be, to my mind, something like a Lotus Elise, a Porsche 911, a Ferrari 348ts, Honda NSX, and the Corvette. There were more, but those were the ones that stood out to me.

No James McAvoy for Split, no interest. Seriously, I think McAvoy at least deserved a nomination.

I think a lot of what people perceive to be the “problem” with Eminem’s music, lyrics and style is the same thing that happens to most artists, i.e. for the most part being about the same subjects.

I have no idea if there’s any truth in this, and since it’s something I’ve read somewhere quite some time back, please also keep in mind that my memory is a bit shoddy. Here goes anyway:

Looks-wise, I’m much more excited about the Aston Martin Valkyrie. I admire Merc’s balls for actually going with the 1.6 V6 though.

No arguments here. To my eye, it would’ve looked better if it was wider, it just sort of looks a tad out of place. It’s like sticking a wing on the bootlid, but only making it as wide as that diffuser is.

Yep, pretty sure it’s only there for the look of it. Still though, if you’re going to have a fake diffuser, at least make it look like it might be functional in some way, in this case wider than it is.

Looks good overall I think. There’s just one thing that bothers me way more than it probably should though, and that’s the thin “diffuser” at the back. I know it probably doesn’t really do anything apart from being an aesthetic feature, but it’d seem more functional if it was full-width I feel, like make the exhausts

Here’s a very, very, very poor and horrendous attempt at pulling back the veil slightly.

I agree with all those choices, but I especially agree with the GTV. I’ve had a thing for them ever since seeing a red one with gold rims and a massive hood bulge married to a NACA duct many, many years ago (pictures for reference).

I say we have a race between that there Mercedes and this here 745i to really spice things up.

Entirely fair and correct point.
