I’m going to feel slightly sorry for the people who have to work in Stormtrooper costumes.

Seriously. Has she tried to apply for a job or a lease lately? She lives her life in a bubble of make-believe.

Completely agreed. And I also hope that she realizes the class (and celeb) privilege that is shielding her from the kind of struggles most trans people in the US have to deal with.

Caitlyn Jenner SHOULD get more shit for her beliefs than her gender identity, since her beliefs are stupid, and she had basically nothing to do with being trans. So, yay, if that’s the way it’s going down for her.

“I make too much money to have to see this misery"

Where the fuck does this guy think he is? Disneyland? Seriously, “I want my parents to have a great experience”? No one owes you that, you fucking special snowflake fuckhead. To use the advice of his own hipster kind, if you don’t like it, MOVE THE FUCK OUT.

The really depressing part is he probably isn’t. Tech is full of people who really, deeply care about the plight of the downtrodden as long as they stay the hell out of the nice real estate.

Wow. Just wow. I read the first part and I was like “yea, that’s shitty but it is an issue for everyone, including those suffering from addiction...” Then I got to the next part “I’m rich and hard working so I shouldn’t have to see gross poor people,” and I lost it. How the fuck does a person become so so terrible??.

He shouldn’t have to see it, they shouldn’t have to live it, it’s tough breaks all around.

Can I play?

I wouldn’t call it a love story unless it actually follows the story from the perspective of both the lovers. If it doesn’t do that, the romantic partner is pretty much a prop, one more item to be won by the protagonist. Most of these are simply stories that include a romantic interest, not actually love stories.

This is the first time I’ve ever said on i09 that I had clicker’s remorse.

You’re having a hard time believing that the “geek/nerd/intellectual community” would have issues with black cosplayers, but did you know that when the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer came out, there were people complaining about the movie starring a black actor? Admittedly though, these people were very likely

This is the worst idea ever. The 2003 reboot of “Battlestar” is just about the best bit of filmed entertainment, ever. Trying to improve on it would be folly.

I think watching a movie version of Battlestar is going to give me the same strange feeling a lot of other recent films gave me: two hours is way too short to tell a proper story.

“The trick, William Potter, is not minding that it hurts”

“Syfy’s attempts to follow it up—with TV movies, a prequel called Caprica, and another prequel called Blood and Chrome—fell flat.”

Atlas Shrugged is a fantastic psychological study of its main- and only character, Ayn Rand.
