I’m fine with it happening, and will buy one once the charging infrastructure is better than farcical.

GMC always had a prettier grill but that was about it. the interiors were exactly the same even.
I had an ‘82ish 4x4 stepside with the 305 and saddle tanks back in the day.
my wife’s family is nowhere near I-94. the nearest high speed charger (level 3) is over 90 miles away, and given how cold it gets in ND, electric cars are going to have a hard time there regardless.
did you not read my post? it could be 2 hours a weekend easily, 10 times a year. all it would take is having to wait for access to the one and only charger at the typical NY rest stop and the “30 minute charge” becomes an hour.
GMC anybody? they are exactly the same as the Chevy’s but with a $1-5k markup and a slightly less hideous grille.
came for this (and the A cars too)
many model airplane tubines use propane, alcohol or other non-kerosene/jet-a fuels.
did I say it didn’t have merit? no. I said it was not ready for primetime.
ok, so you got the large capacity tank. the standard F-150 tank is 23 or 26 depending on trim level.
I never drive _to_ the gas station. I stop at one of the 10 that are directly on my commute route once every week and a half, spend 4 minutes gassing up and continue on my way. total time dealing with fueling is still less than having to plug the car in every night.
I get that my use case is somewhat off nominal, particularly in the northeast where I live. but go west young man. a weekly 400 mile drive out there is not uncommon.
yup, and when chargers are as ubiquitous as gas pumps, and you can rely on getting one of these unicorn high speed chargers, then I will be the first to get one.
fuck off.
the 10 minute charge discussed is a science experiment and requires design changes to batteries and battery packs to work
the soft top though is beautiful. it is the ugly ass hardtop that needs to go.
the whole point of the Mk V is that it takes up about 10 feet more than it really needs.
I don’t know what you are smoking saying most gas cars have 200 miles range...
there is no god. you are not special. you are random chance.
sad but true.
