Agreed 99%   (I’d still take a new one if offered!)

Ha! You beat me to it! Excellent choice, especially the early models.

And you must drive it around with the ski rack...

Meanwhile, Barrett-Jackson sold about 42 of the previous gen 2005 Ford GTs during last weeks auction. They were coming out of the woodwork like Corvettes.

Better technically, or better received? Basically every new generation of the 911 is technically better than it’s predecessor. But in regards to reception, perhaps you don’t remember when the 997 was released. While most were happy with a return to round/oval headlights, it was the beginning of the heavier, wider, and

It was done on purpose so new buyers would have to pay $5,000 for the Sport Design option, which makes it look similar to the old one:

Easiest way to tell? Everyone screaming about how they “don’t like the new one, the old one was better.”

I got nervous when I saw this was a video of a bunch of white kids from a Catholic school.

This would not sell well in Italy.

Probably an electric flywheel.....I think it’s been covered here.

One bad pixel on the camera sensor and the astronomy community explodes. It was a bad pixel, Jerry! They can’t be trusted!

The Golf was an IIHS Top Safety Pick in both 2016 and 2017 and the auto-braking was well rated, although to your point it’s optional on the Golf.  The three I looked at did not have it.

To me, blandness is suffering. Draining water every four months from your dash/quarter panels is more like variety.

I refuse to suffer for 15 years in that car because I have a soul.  I’ll take my chances.  Also, I like Christmas.  Source: I own a Touareg.

My current VW is on 14 years and 115,000 miles. If the Golf lasts 1/2 of that for $15 grand, it’s still my choice for a commuter car.

I’d forget the iM and go with a lightly used Golf.....you can even find some CPO in the $15k range.

Similarly, they sold more Cayennes last year than the entire combined five year run of the 993. (1994-1998 Porsche 911 = 68,000)

Ohhh......only two gallons? What’s the total range of the i3 with fully charged battery and full gas tank? I was thinking something that had an ICE engine driving the wheels as well.....a combined range of closer to 250/300 miles. Like a Fusion Energi or Honda clarity with better electric-only range.

More realistically, you want a gear shift and a clutch that are merely connected to an interior audio system that simulates the sounds of an ICE car. Maybe throw in some vibration effects for good measure. External PA optional.

PHEV with ~100 miles of electric-only range. You could drive on full electric 98% of the time, but not have any limitations of distance or range anxiety.
