Dont listen to the haters. I had a 1986 Carrera and it was great, sold it and had enough for a downpayment on a house and, a 1987 Corvette... This winter I upgraded to a 2001 996 Carrera and guess what, It's also great!

Although I share your dream I do not see it as a possibility. Colors mean interesting and interesting means independent thought and that is limited to a % of the population. Therefore only a small percentage will ever choose a color and the rest will buy a gray crossover. For many people driving is a necessary evil

1989 F150 5.0 must lift engine at least  about 10" to replace pan. Cant get it off any other way..

Similarly I left in 1984 as a child and only went back in 2010 and a few times since. When I came back to Montreal from my vacation I felt I was coming back to the dark ages in many respects. Quite a reversal.

Can’t beleive you actually beleive this nonsense. Your opinion is the complete opposite of reality. When a big company sets up shop in these areas they are giving jobs to people that would otherwise be unemployed, jobs that pay better than others. Its a shame they cant open up more so that more people could work

If they could only put the new tech in the old body.... New Civics are hideous to me. They could cost half the price of a comparable car and I would still have reservations buying one. Am I the only one?

Why doesn’t Jalopnik make a list of GOOD car/bike shows? Wheeler dealer was one... I saw a good motorcycle show, called ‘the motorbike show’ with henry cole. The others I think of have fake drame and deadlines... Count customs was ok... But they barely showed or explained any of the work that was done on the cars and

The 915 transmission in the Porsche 911 had these type of synchros, called baulk ring, up until 1986 I think. Gears are helical though.  Most people prefer the newer transmission with cone shaped synchros, “borg-werner style”? All old beetles also had the dog ears and baulk ring.

Gattica already did it. Starring uma thurman, jude law, and that other guy with the hair, I think.

Gets pulled over ‘for’ going 160 not ‘at’ 160. But then again what do I know... I work in maintenance, mastery of english is not a requirement.

If you “saw” what an autonomous car “sees” you would be shocked. They see very little, at a frightening resolution, and the software uses what amounts to guesswork to determine what is an obstacle. Does it know it’s a humna or maybe its a garbage bag blowing across the road? The human mind is very good at operating

Why has the Prius always been so hideous? The related Lexus hybrid model is quite nice. Is there some country where people like this styling? It seems to defy logic.

For a company that has yet to make a profit that spells one thing... A hype bubble that will burst.

In Montréal Canada we say “take the 40" or “take the 15" as well...

My 1986 Porsche 911 had a zipper at the back of the headliner that reveals a crank to close the sunroof in case of electrical failure. Also on the 911 and many European cars if you leave the turn signal lever engaged when exiting the vehicle, it will leave the parking lights on even though the car is off and keys

Price is hight for the same reason why a painting can fetch 100 million. A rich person really really wants one. Only 64 road legal F1s were ever made.

Supply and demand. This dictates all prices. Supply: only 106 were ever made, of which only 64 were road cars. Demand, very high because it is such a storied car, one of the first ‘hyper’ cars. Very exclusive.

Kristen Lee’s pick is the best. LOTUS for the win.

Keeping color alive!

I have for a long time thought that eventually people tastes will change and some will start buying lower/sleeker suv’s (station wagons). But they can’t be called station wagons. I suggest “Sport-SUV”. Why, because people are fickle and impressionable and their car buying decisions are largely subjective. Think “pet
