And why would we do that?
And why would we do that?
Until they disappeared up their own ass, “winner winner, chicken dinner” was a staple of just about every Sportcenter broadcast over at ESPN for decades.
Jimenez and Cease for Quintana is an amazing deal for the Sox and a good deal for the Cubs; I have a feeling that when this is all said and done, it’s the Sutcliffe for Carter/Hall trade all over again.
What’s scary is, the Sox still have a huge bargaining chip in Robertson, and enough “name” prospects to package him…
I think it was the price, and the fact that Quintana hasn’t been a stellar light in a sea of depravity, he’s just kind of been average on a bad team. The White Sox were treating him like they had Felix Hernandez and he’s more like Livan Hernandez.
Except, you know, everyone but Wade Davis and Carl Edwards, Jr having shit the bed from Opening Day until the ASB. Then Davis started shitting the bed.
While both teams got what they need, the White Sox got the better end of the trade. I’ve seen Cease pitch in person; he’s the real deal but the Cubs have been extremely careful with him. They weren’t grooming him to be a reliever, but they weren’t letting him get too deep into his starts, either.
Miraculous that it had no visible damage to the front until it became one with the guardrail.
Yeah, me big dumb. Not buy bullshit. NY Times! NY Times!
“Oh, it’s all a series of misunderstandings! But since you’re here, let me tell you about my book!”
Shenanigans. This person is the sort of buzz leech that lends credence to the “fake news!” assholes; there’s no legitimate reason for him to lead with “I was... just... about... to... break... this” bullshit when he…
I think certain keywords should have scores attached to them, and after a set cumulative score, it is at the dispatcher’s discretion to dismiss the 911 call. Like, if the complainant mentions “thugs” or “racket” it’s already on its way into the dumpster.
It’s easy to project that PEDs were much more widely used in the 90s/00s than we know, considering we still see players getting popped for it today, when there are actual consequences for getting caught.
And honestly, look at the list of MLB players what have been suspended for PED use; yeah, there are a few big…
I have to imagine that is some component of it, and the fact that Sanchez and Judge have both come up and put the hurt on right away might be ‘proof’ that whatever the approach is, it’s working. If you look at their spray charts on fangraphs (or above) they both seem to be adept at hitting it anywhere.
Kind of what I am saying; this might be a ‘juice’ year, but even a juiced ball couldn’t have produced what Judge is doing. Miguel Cabrera put up .286/.350/.431 in the minors, and he’s done ok at the next level.
I wish that were true, but past a certain wealth level or certain levels of authority, you are immune to consequences in this country. For now.
But could the ball be that juiced? Judge was a career .278 hitter in the minor leagues, averaging a HR every 23 at-bats and slugging .478 over 3 seasons. Now he’s in the big leagues, batting .329, slugging .691 and averaging a HR every 10 ABs.
Eh, I thought it was a pretty fair analog to the comic version of the Vulture, spruced up a bit to fit into the MCU. Except for when they inexplicably wrote Toomes as some kind of vampire, most of his fights with Spider-Man go one-sided as soon as Spider-Man gets his bearings.
Yeah, watching Homecoming, I didn’t get the sense that I was watching the same Spider-Man who single-handedly took out Falcon & Winter Soldier, and fought Cap to a standstill. Plus, and I’ll have to watch CW again to make sure, but I seem to remember that version of Spider-Man had spider-sense, or at least reactions…
That moment (and the ~10 minutes that follow) was damn near perfect; what a great way to take advantage of the fans’ making assumptions. Only way they could have sold it better would have been to do the MJ thing before that.
This, exactly!
It took that long for them to figure out Bethesda’s parent company wasn’t the trade name for a herpes treatment.
