That women are equal to men, I guess.

The vast majority of men are not rapists. But something around 1/4 of women will be sexually assaulted at some point in their life. Because the men who are rapists - they do it a lot.

The vast majority of rapes are committed by men. You don't get to pretend that this is not the case.

I read Elliot Rodger's manifesto/memoir.

You're speaking to a group of women, many of which have been sexually assaulted. Rapists are no scare tactic that we employ; for us, they have names, faces, and very real lives that intertwine with our own.

I know where my rapist goes to school, and I know which bars he frequents. I know who he's friends with, and I

Societal change takes time but I like that the covered glass takes little time, little $ and just may protect women . . . .

We should be focused on educating people to create the world we want to live in. We also absolutely need to prepare people to live in the world we actually inhabit. That means taking responsibility for your safety. It does NOT mean that it's your fault if anything bad happens but it DOES mean that it's just smart

Not against this, but alcohol often is the date rape drug.

Source: epic fail. Y'all are welcome (I think?)

I like that this one comes complete with baby-bunny merkin.

Was that the "almost lost an eye" comment? God...the responses to that we're so fucking literal, I couldn't believe it. If there was any doubt that that there is a serious issue with misogyny in this country, the Elliot Roger case not only highlighted it by occurring, but also by bringing the seething and intense

That reminded me of Dahmer, too. There were women trying to help the poor kid, and the police believed Dahmer over them, and over the victim's protests, as much as he could make them with all the drugs in his system. Everything about this is infuriating.

Eh, I expected it. High correlation between trolling and sociopathy and whatnot. I tried talking about mental health care workers being needed on every police force, so that people can get help, etc. on the gawker post yesterday and they all decided that what I meant was that people should be thrown in jail "for

When I heard the cops went to see Roger and believed he was okay. It reminded me of the time Milwaukee cops giving back one of Jeffery Dalmer's victims who escaped. The victim was foreign, didn't speak English and the cops thought it was a lover's spat. Dalmer killed him as soon as they got back to his place.

Is there significant cross-posting going on for every Elliot Rodger story? Because it seems like the trolls REALLY LOVE commenting on these stories in particular. I honestly thought, when this story hit last weekend, that EVEN TROLLS would be horrified and would maybe take a break from the harassment. What a naive

Goose, I suggest you take a gander at the trolly trolls and their onslaught on my shoulda-been-obviously-tongue-in-cheek comment and try to understand why I didn't dignify this or other similar comments with real responses.

Oh for crying out loud, misandry is about as relevant as white oppression. My spell-check has a red line under it because IT'S NOT EVEN A THING.
