So sorry for your loss! It's so hard to have to put a little buddy down, but so kind of you. Hope you're doing ok.

His little moustache!

I—always thought the lyrics were "If you wanna be my lover/You gotta gotta be my friend/[shmeh shmeh] lasts forever/Friendship never ends." Now that I read it back I realize it doesn't really make sense.

Yeesh. I could never do the pills. I actually got morning sickness on them, for multiple days, during the first week of every packet. The nuva ring is a much lower dosage of hormones, supposedly? Might be worth looking into! That said— some people's body chemistry adjusts within a few months and they don't have

I quit with nicorette, then switched to nicoderm, then tapered off. In the back of my mind, I always thought I'd turn to ecigs if nothing else worked. My ex switched permanently to ecigs. He seems healthier, and it seems like anything's better than all that actual smoke, but I don't think they've been around long

Good luck on your exam, before I forget!!! Organic chemistry, huh. Wow. You can do it! I watched both seasons 1 & 2 of AHS, and I feel like the dad/husband gets a lot more interesting after a certain point . . . don't want to ruin anything in case you're not that far in. Season two — is insane. I loved it. I

I still love the "Run Lola Run" soundtrack. As for cheesy pop—can't go wrong with Abba. Oh, also, I am old. : )

I used to love this brand—I think it was Swiss?—called Emmi. So good! But I can't find it out here in LA. Recently, I bought some Chobani on sale. Bad move. Tastes like chemicals. I like Fage, and Fresh & Easy's greek yogurt is not bad for the price.

I imagine Malala would not like her book to be used to mock and deride any other young woman for the purpose of entertainment.

Good lord. I just recently had a UTI. Besides that, I've had one other one—20 years ago, when I had a very bad flu. I've been wondering about how/why I got one again, seemingly out of nowhere this time . . . it's unsettling to read this now.

I love Spiral, a french crime drama series. It's free on Netflix. Great characters, acting, writing. I also loved The Returned. Can't wait for the new season!

me too!

"Mysteriously cataleptic" ?!? Hmm, should I ask a doctor? No, no. It is a Mystery!!!

On a lesser note, aren't all bubble baths sudsy? I mean, I guess some bubble baths just don't work out, but . . . I don't know, "sudsy" just also sounds so cheerful. Yick.

No! I can't get over "words formed . . . by a human throat." I just picture someone croaking to himself in the john.

The old "feigned coma" approach. Yup. Nope.

So sorry to hear this. But so kind of you to relieve your kitty's suffering (even if it might increase yours.) I wish I could bring you something that would make you and kitty brother feel better. Sending warm thoughts. Take care.

I think way more of my aesthetics come from the 80s than I've been able to acknowledge/willing to admit. I know I'm in the grays, and I'm like number 500, but hope you still see my thanks for finding and posting yet another gem :)

Also, recommended for spooky October reading: The Haunting of Hill House and/or We Have Always Lived in the Castle both by the brilliant Shirley Jackson.
