I know, and I don't care that much, just black looks better.

Black dye vs green dye probably wouldn't increase the cost more than a fraction of a penny per unit. No, it doesn't make much difference to a user, and yes it is increased cost probably, but black does give the impression of higher quality somehow. Like in custom PCs, green PCBs just look like the default parts.
I'm kind of with you, it doesn't make any meaningful difference but Apples black PCBs just LOOK higher end, more custom, what have you. The cost of green dye vs black can't be that different.
*But also those atom netbooks are running Windows which is much larger than Android. 8 RT may be different.
AFAIK if you have anything that uses all four cores of the Tegra 3, plus it isn't memory bandwidth limited as the T3 has a slow single channel controller, the T3 is comparable with a SINGLE core Atom. Dual core Atom is quite a bit more powerful.
I'm no yacht expert, but it is purdy. Makes me wonder how that car they were thinking of making (Phil said they were in court) would have looked like.
The case is really attractive, just that the size is neither here nor there IMO. For a gaming PC I'd want something I know is expandable and can fit any size GPU or other parts in, and for an HTPC it's a bit too big. A space saving standard desktop, absolutely.
And I like how they touted resolution over screen size to show off Retina displays, then flipped around and bragged about how the Mini has more screen size than the Nexus 7, even though it has a significantly lower PPI.
"I suppose you could design a car that flies and floats"
To the complaints about using the stand on a lap or any non-level surface, with the touch cover you can flip it back half way and then have the stand resting on THAT rather than your lap, have you tried that? That should be much more stable as it now has a level surface and much more surface area.
Funny how they touted resolution over screen area for so long, then turned around just for their Nexus 7 comparison and touted the Minis screen area. They're having it both ways, and most people will take what they said in stride.
I've been running it since the day after that comment 2 months ago :P
I use the beard trimmer on my electric shaver sometimes to shave the stubble when I'm extremely lazy (I hate the electric shaver part), but the way the stubble on the bottom of my head grows makes it so that one side gets really close down, and the other side is a bit longer because the grain goes in two different…
The battery, screen, and integrated touchpad and keyboard part? Actually once you add the keyboard, mouse, and a monitor, the Macbook seems like a better deal.
The HD4000 can offload HD video playback just fine.
What is that second large chip, the Thunderbolt chip or a chipset chip? That thing is almost as big as a CPU!
It has the same resolution as the old one, apps will just look smaller on it but display 1:1. But I guess they could optimize for the smaller screen.
I would give it bonus points for tablet app support, but not 130 dollars worth of them. 50-80 maybe.
With the iPad 2s guts and screen resolution, I think it could have been even cheaper. I mean, it's an older SoC and lower res display than the 200 dollar Nexus S, granted that's 8GB vs 16 but I think high capacity models of that are coming out at the same prices soon. 1024x768, older SoC, for 50 dollars more than the…
What software bugs and hardware flaws in specific were encountered, out of curiosity? A large chunk of the criticism comes from the touch cover it looks like, which is legitimate criticism but some or even most people may not even get the thing with the Surface, it's optional, plus I can't imagine it being slower than…
