BMW is hurting BMW. Everything is overpriced and unreliable.
The lead photo with the red 318ti brought back many memories of a simple 4 cylinder with 5 speed and rear wheel drive that was a blast to drive. Actually, I am glad it is not coming stateside.
The lower intake could be a bit cleaner, but it’s really not horrible.
That drives me insane. Nobody would blink if you rolled up in a brand new loaded Explorer, but drive a decade old German car you got for $10k and they think you’re Richie Rich.
“They decided to take off the Mercedes badge because they were afraid that people would see that and think we were spending too much money.”
“WHAT KIND OF BULLSHIT, WELFARE ABUSING, GOVERNMENT OVERSPENDING IS THIS?! A FUCKING MERCEDES IS DROPPING OFF MY MAIL?! I CAN’T EVEN AFFORD A NEW FUCKING KIA, AND I’M PAYING THAT ASSHOLES SALARY TO DRIVE A MERCEDES?! NO WONDER TRUMP WANTS TO KILL THE USPS, THIS IS BULLLLLSHIITTTTTT”
Stop the extended warranty calls? How do we stop the annoying G/O Media survey pop ups that want to know all your personal info? Or the new Youtube “are you *sure* you don’t want to log in first?” YES! It seems like *every time* I watch a video on Youtube these days, I have to get through that stupid screen first. Or…
Uh, the GT350 was more than a name change, I’m sure you know, right? It had a completely unique engine and until the Bullitt, a completely unique transmission as well. Every other Mustang is using some form of the 5.0L crossplane V8, the GT350 was the only 5.2L flatplane in the entire lineup.
RE performance:
Jalops don’t buy every car they like because it would be simply impossible. In order to buy every car I love, I’d need Jay Leno’s budget and facility. Even that might not be enough- perhaps the budget of Jeff Bezos might suffice.
Coolest car they make, but I get it. The standard GT engine is creeping up on gt350 performance and revs pretty high it’s self, plus those voodoo engines do not have a good reputation for reliability.
Sometimes it’s okay to let the tears flow.
Now our jobs as ‘true jaops’ is to continue saying “well, if they bring back the GT350 with a manual, I’ll be first in line at the dealer buying one.”
This is a bummer. I would much rather have.GT350 than a GT500. Though, like a true Jalop, as much as I love the GT350, I never bought one.
Those all sound like excellent reasons to just go buy a sweet E46.
I am not even sure the problem is only the look with BMW nowadays.
Not an argument... just a fact.
Perhaps they want a car some time in the next two years?
And anybody would buy this withe new Z coming out why?
