I really doubt this is some PR conspiracy. Immortals is a AA game so EA’s sales estimates are probably pretty conservative to begin with. They’re well aware that August and September are packed but they weren’t expecting huge sales to begin with. The vast majority of sales will come from the winter holidays regardless.

I was just thinking about how awful the name of this game is. It sounds like a fake video game from a movie or TV show.

Well, I for one would rather play this than pick up a Bethesda game on launch day.

I’m not sure why companies keep naming games “Immortals.” It’s an unappealing name! The games don’t sell.

It is kind of amazing that it was possible to buy the Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii U for $10 at one point, and now we have to hope and pray to get the full remastered trilogy for $120 someday. Nintendo really went maximal “screw you consumer” and suffered not even a little bit.

Show me Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Remaster and I’ll be drifting high in heaven...

While I would love to see some Metroid Prime 4 I’m at the point where I just kinda have to pretend it’s not coming out anymore in order to not be disappointed when it keeps going unmentioned.

My wife is pregnant and I am fully preparing myself for couch controller gaming to be a rarity for the next 7-10 years. Fortunately, I have Ultimate Game Pass, so I can play on my phone and on my laptop in my home office during work downtime.

Before I had kids, I never really understood the draw of phone games. It isn’t just the easier pick-up-put-down, but there’s intangible vibes too - I can be on my phone and still in the mix parenting, but the vibe of sitting on the couch with a controller while kids run amock just isn’t good optics.
