A lot of posts end up with comment counts in the single digits (or none at all!), something that never used to happen. The ones which gain any sort of activity beyond that are the spicy takes which energize troll accounts, who then bait readers into participating. It’s depressing.

When you can make giant mecha, everything gets scaled to giant mecha proportions.

I mean, have you opened up a Gizmodo or AV Club article from 2012? None of those classic commenters are here anymore and a lowly article back then got 5x the number of total comments as in 2023.

Can I just say?

Good. Fuck em

That’s exactly what I just posted about Cars. A fun concept that really makes no sense at all after 10 seconds of consideration.

I think what I find weird (and maybe this makes more sense in the context of the film), but most Pixar movies pull a similar trick of “imagine _____, but like a whole society/world of _____, walking around and going to work and stuff;” but there’s always some connection to our world, like you could lift a rock and see

This idea that fans are expecting such high fidelity is a bit odd. I find it surprising and delightful when a game looks amazing but I do not expect it.

‘Some water is sentient and other water isn’t’ belongs in the Goofy-Pluto class of fantasy narrative paradoxes.

The Good Dinosaur is terrible but at least it gave us the fever dream sequence where the dinosaur and the caveman are tripping balls.

I think the opposite. It’s doing well enough they know they can get away with this shit and rake in boatloads. If it was doing very poorly, they wouldn’t be so blatant because the bitching of the internet would be a more meaningful. It made over 100 million dollars Q4 last year, the most the ‘franchise’ has ever made

Being an Overwatch fan in 2023 is an emotional rollercoaster, they’re all used to it by now

Sunday’s article (“Overwatch 2's Story Trailer Is A Sign Of Hope After All The Bad News”) quickly aged very, very badly…

Cancel PVE and then have the gall to charge $15 for this? This is scummy as shit.

You know... for the Christmas tree!

It’s not extreme at all.

It looks like fun but it brings back the old meme...

There’s statues of Lois Lane holding Superman’s dead body, this isn’t that extreme.
