This is an extremely weird take, considering this site is how I discovered a lot of great niche games (added today - Aviary Attorney) and they cover super niche indies and underloved gems all the time. I guess you've never been to IGN, Gamespot, Destructoid, etc.

I always assumed this was partially because emulation was less necessary with the Xbox, since most of its best games were already on PC anyway. It could also be because the Xbox was a killer emulation machine in its own right and was dirt cheap once the 360 came out, so it was worth owning the console itself.

I know the format limits these lists to 12 games, but I’m surprised there aren’t more high quality indie games included here. I’ve spent just as much time on AAA titles like DMC5 and Halo:MCC as I have with Hollow Knight, Ori and the Blind Forest, and other indie gems. Game Pass is also kind of the ideal way to

Supplementary hot take - the Midgar portion of the original game is extremely linear, so they’d have to deviate quite a bit to add any meaningful sense of non-linearity. I’m not sure if that level of deviation would be good or bad, but considering the low quality of their side quests in recent games, my hopes aren’t

So disappointing to hear about the issues. I’m still holding out for a simple, small, and affordable dedicated music player like this that has these kinds of modern features like access to streaming apps as well, rather than buying a decade old iPod or Zune that has to connect through iTunes or whatever and feels

Ugh, because then there’s the possibility of Trump looking over and being all like “wait, we can do that?”, and that’s how you end up with the Donald / Ivanka 2020 candidacy (and a second impeachment trial that’s very similar to Clinton’s, but with a sprinkling of incest and orange dust).

It's a strange sense of satisfaction when the person you imagine based on the headline and the revolting troll in the photo match up.

I’d definitely agree with this advice for games prior to this generation (up to 360/PS3, if that) primarily because at a certain point lots of games became heavily dependent on patches and updates, so if you lose access to those updates the experience may be incomplete or broken. I’m not sure what the best advice is

These satellites will only have a five year lifespan??? I know they have to keep those military contractors bankrolled, but this seems awfully short and will quickly result in loads of additional garbage in low orbit...

Standard metric banana, otherwise what’s the point of measuring?

So I guess one of the few benefits of climate change will be Florida’s transformation into a blue state?

The damn thing looks big enough that I’d hope the power brick is integrated. I think my Xbox One S just has a standard power cord? But maybe I’m wrong.

The next leak should include a banana for scale, please.

Hot dang, Game Pass continues to amaze. Although I do wish there was more consistency between the Xbox and PC offerings, there’s a surprising amount of third party games you’d expect on PC that aren’t there and vice-versa. But I guess it also makes it more beneficial to subscribe to both PC and Xbox?

I’ll donate half our congress as well...they’re mostly comprised of fossil fuels and firearms, so they’re highly combustible.

Right - after three years as an exclusive, an additional platform for a beloved game like this is basically free money for Sony as well as great advertising for the sequel.

Considering the somewhat rough and buggy state Witcher 3 first arrived in, I’m 100% okay with a few more months of polish on a game this large and ambitious. Plus it gives me more time to catch up on my winter backlog before this huge game absorbs my life.

This is a good reminder that Smash’s secondary purpose is to market other Nintendo franchises to consumers, so in that regard this completely lines up.

I’ve tried to ask the train’s designer about that, but he always just gives me this creepy stare and mumbles bible verses at me...

Either him or the creepy old guy who sleeps on the train.
