I agree with other comments here. Mostly it just feels 5-10 years old. But more than that, was it just me, or did all the fighting and movement feel incredibly slow? Hulk and Cap looked okay, but Thor and Iron Man looked like they were moving at half speed, and Taskmaster owns the slowest jetpack in the world.

“Welp, gotta finish my first playthrough of Three Houses in the next two weeks..."

I’m surprised there wasn’t mention of Crosscode, since it’s supposedly coming out in 2019. Hopefully it’s still on schedule!

No, unless you were already considering it. The general assumption is that Game Freak will build back up the Pokedex over the next couple of years. I can’t imagine they’d leave the competitive pool limited for long, and the backlash to this is enough that the smart decision would be to bring that functionality back to

This is a powerful article, Gita, thank you for sharing.

Wow. That's not a great look. Bet it was more appealing to people in Montana though.

Totally agree, especially about the music. The boss theme totally owns. Plus even the cinematography in battles is ramped up and energetic, which makes the limit breaks and summons some of the most dynamic and exciting in the series. And the battle system itself is so fast and punchy, it makes encounters much more

I always chalked that up to Rebels’ mediocre writing, or the challenge of believably making a group of trap-prone and impulsive rebels stand any chance against a strategic mastermind who should have wiped them out in the first episode. I think that Thrawn was possibly one of the best parts of the show, but he often

I’d love to have that series, but build Thrawn into a sympathetic and reluctant accomplice as he and Ezra try to survive in strange and dangerous new environments. It’d be fascinating to see his intellectual and strategical nature collaborate with the brash idealism of a typical protagonist.

As others have mentioned, that both sides stance is really disappointing, and seems incredibly disconnected from the conceptual foundations of many of their game worlds. It makes me wonder if the initial concepts are intended to make a strong statement, but the concept is politically neutered through some kind of

Thrawn already showed up out of nowhere to be the big bad in Rebels and was taken out of commission at the end of that series, so I doubt they’d have him show back up a few years later just to play the same antagonistic role.

I also subscribe to the Squall is Dead conspiracy. Unfortunately the developers recently denied this theory is canon.

Let me be clear - I don’t think it’s a good plot, in the same way that I don’t think KH is a good plot. It’s a fucking mess, and stands as a bright neon sign of how not to write cohesive genre fiction. I’d argue that it’s actually generally pretty bad in that “so bad it’s campy and ridiculous” sort of way, but it’s

Seriously. Whatsisface the pirate who is a guest character in the second half of the game has like six lines and still has way more depth (and is a certified bamf). The only way I can wrap my head around Fran is that she’s effectively the sexy Chewbacca to Balthier’s Han - everything she does in the plot revolves

Best part of this batshit game is that the main character is the straight man (in a comedic routine sense) surrounded by the world losing its mind, and he’s having none of it.

I’ve never played FFXI so I can’t speak to that one. While FFXII is a very well-realized story (actually possibly my favorite in the series), it is a) literally Star Wars with some politics mixed in; and b) pretty thin in the back half, which leaves the characters with very little to do and few opportunities for

Thank you. Everything I do is in service to my fellow emo FFVIII fans. And cocaine.

100% agree. I’d have much rather those two never hook up and instead spent the game with Rinoa sneaking off to be with her secret boyfriend Seifer, except that the rest of the group clearly knows and is just judging her. At least Rinoa and Seifer makes a lot of sense in my mind, those two are wildly broken people in

Honestly, Squall’s character growth is the best part of this game (unless you’re more into batshit anime plotlines and twists, then that’s on another level). I really hope that this remaster helps to rehab this game’s image. Yes, it’s a game that’s entire battle system can be twisted and broken on a whim, not

Agreed. As someone involved in sustainable design, I find it absolutely confounding that more people don’t realize that local government and codes have a far larger sustainable impact than even the most wonderfully and efficiently designed building. Same goes for many other aspects of environmentalism. Unfortunately
