With yet another humanoid swordboy, I really hope the next DLC character isn’t another goddamn Fire Emblem character to market the new game this summer...although it’s interesting that suddenly Smash is the JRPG franchise mashup of our childhood dreams.

That’s fair, I forgot about XV’s odd choice to all coordinate. Probably because I was distracted by Ardyn’s design being so fantastic, which I think makes up for it.

Seeing Zell’s face tattoo in glorious HD doesn’t change the fact that he looks like a twat. Of all the FFs, I think this one has the worst main character designs, but some of the best monster designs.

You know what? Prior to this trailer, I was pretty indifferent to this remake. But now? Feed that shit right into my veins. This is the first time I’ve felt some hope that they might be doing this for the right reasons, instead of dump trucks full of money (which, don’t get me wrong, will also be involved). Seeing

I mean, I mostly enjoyed that 3 hour long KH game at the end (even if it made little sense), it’s just too bad it came after 30 hours of meandering bullshit in which neither the heroes nor the villains understand or care why they’re visiting Disney worlds again.

WOLOLO

Might I introduce you to...? *gestures to a thousand other games*

Also, in Episode I Obi-Wan himself ignored when Darth Maul had him at a disadvantage and was on higher ground, flipping directly over him in a way that could have easily gone poorly for him.

It sure looks like a bunch of content that should have been included in the first place, considering KH3 had the weakest and most half-baked plot of any RPG I’ve played in years. I’m tired of Square (but mostly Nomura, considering XV was also his mess in the first place) using DLC to finish their homework way after

Game comes out in five months, so I think alpha is the wrong term...not much time to revise entire gameplay loops.

Don’t get me wrong - he’s a very talented designer and idea guy. But that just doesn’t translate to the realities and pragmatism of director and manager, and I still don't understand why he keeps getting those roles. His concepts are great (most of the time), but his execution is very flawed and he's shit at deadlines.

I don’t have any hope that we’ll see FF XVI anytime soon. I hope that SE knows that their reputation has taken a hit from XV’s rough development and their infamous release timelines with many of their biggest games, and that the window between XVI’s initial reveal and its release will hopefully be much smaller this

So while I’m amazed and completely appreciative that Square uploaded all of these for archival purposes (even including side games like Dissidia), some of the older soundtracks probably aren’t as appealing because they’re the original MIDI versions. Instead, I’d highly recommend the multiple Distant Worlds

I want them to keep showing new regions, but slow down the rate of new monsters for each generation. I’d be totally happy with a very thoughtful mix of 250ish existing ‘mons with 30-40 really well designed and unique monsters that are all viable and worthwhile. No more goddamn Pidgey / Rattata duplicates, fewer

I loved Megas as well, but I also understand that they were so powerful that everyone in the meta felt it necessary to have one of the few best on their team. There just wasn’t enough of a downside to using them to balance things out- yes, you lose the ability to hold an item, but that’s peanuts compared to your

I have played my Switch nearly everyday since release, and I still have to look down at my Pro Controller or Joy-Cons to figure out which button is Home, which means that if I just push what I assume is the Home button there’s a roughly 50% I’m taking a screenshot. I have no idea why I struggle this much with this,

The part about Alakazam is really interesting, because I’ve never in the past two decades interpreted those shapes on its design as soft and flowing like clothing or skin, but slightly more rigid forms like a lightweight armor or foam (especially in the shoulder pads and chest / crotch).

I agree, SNES Classic is a great option (although not if you’re looking for handheld play). I’ve also filled mine’s internal memory with a bunch of 2d gems from NES, SNES, GBA, and Genesis, although I’d never thought to try N64 (because of the controller layout) or any of the other 3d consoles, since they likely won’t

It’s more than I expected, especially considering the typical price will be $200 soon. Its capabilities seem a little limited if SNES emulation is “capable”, for the price I would hope that it would be a little stronger, at the very least GBA. A better screen would also be ideal.

I can respect a masochistic challenge, like in Dark Souls, roguelikes, etc, but in those genres they tend to be a fairly typical game of their genre with a couple of challenging twists (Dark Souls controls like an action game, but includes 2-3 masochistic twists), which make these feel conceptually approachable but
