So true. Even the 2d games tend to have issues. I emulate anything on PSX and beyond on my PC instead, because the Pi (and even the SNES Classic) can barely play it at the retail game’s standard, while my PC smooths polygons, increases resolution, reduces loading, etc.

More like Rhy-puny-er, amirite?

The SNES Classic homescreen is a gem, but that would be tough to recreate in your spare time. Even a more typical list interface like most Retropie / emulation setups have might be better than this dumb carousel.

I too used to be a Retropie faithful, but after years of tweaking settings, bluetooth controllers not working correctly, godawful UI / UX, I gave up and switched over to a hacked SNES Classic and haven’t looked back. It’s glorious and completely superior in every way, plays all of the games a Retropie can play just as

I agree with most of these issues, but I just want to reiterate - in a game with 74 characters, I can’t change my character between online matches without dropping out of the queue. Which is extra strange, because I’m pretty sure I could swap out between matches in Smash 4? The lag and the issues with finding matches

I had some PTSD flashes to the Marvel vs Capcom Infinite reveal...especially that Wolverine, jeez.

I put a fair amount of time into this series (and X-men Legends, which was very similar) back in the day. Think of it like a Marvel version of Diablo, packed to the brim with lore and a reverence to the source material that was impressive, which elevated the games considerably (the gameplay was fine).

I’m so excited for this, especially on Switch. I happened to get into the original for the first time a few months ago and found it incredibly soothing, but the visuals were bland (the original is very unsaturated and kinda grey, as you can see in the image above). Polishing the look while preserving the charm

As someone who mostly plays solo and grew up with the act of unlocking characters, I find it much more exciting than when fighting games just give you everything up front. And even spreading that out from a couple days to a couple weeks isn’t bad - I think one review I read said that they were getting a couple

Its great to hear you can unlock characters pretty quickly. Not long before I'm reunited with my best boy Lucas.

That’s a good point actually. I always play solo and without chat, so healing and support probably (paradoxically) require the least direct collaboration with the rest of the team - I just need to be wherever I’m needed most at the moment and doing the most good.

I can understand that. I actually probably play 50% Mercy and 50% Orisa - I love the strategy of where to place shields to protect the team, how to grief the other team with her skills, etc.

To be fair, $40 is a more reasonable price for the ports of the ports of previous FFs. I love those games, but charging full price was bold.

I’ve played Overwatch on and off in bursts since it released, and I’ve found that I enjoy playing the healer and support roles much more than offensive roles, as I find it a lot more interesting for the same reasons that you mentioned. (It might also have something to do with the fact that I don’t actually play

To be fair, it’s a fascinating game - it’s hugely ambitious, the plot is actually very interesting and more mature and creative than most JRPGs, the characters are nuanced and relatable, and seeing the scope of the mech battles and cinematics are still exciting 30 hrs in. I really want to finish this game, but the

I keep hearing that the late game (and the final dungeon in particular) aren't great, so that's definitely not helping my enthusiasm...

A couple of years ago I had a godawful hour bus ride each way to my job, so I powered through a bunch of 3ds games and PS1 games on Vita that way. It was making the best of a shitty situation, but now that my commute is much shorter I rarely play games away from home unless I’m on a trip.
