If this is somewhat successful and develops beyond this point, I wonder if the next big milestone is to extend this capability to a new Chromecast? Playing on a laptop or PC is one thing, but playing on your tv in competition with the main consoles? That could be huge.

Man, I just signed up this month for Overwatch, I doubt I can get that discount now...

Part of this also ties into the fact that the price for mainstream video games has remained oddly constant for an incredibly long time, even as inflation and development costs have multiplied long past the point where that price should have increased. Combine that with the trend of indies and secondary studios like

??? I saw a few of these in Pokemon Go around Minneapolis a couple days ago and caught one, but it just turned into a Ditto. Not that I needed to keep it because it's a shitty monster design, I'm just curious if others have seen them too.

Right. The PS1 had a library of over 1000 games has a long list of all time greats as well as a long list of ‘man, this really hasn’t aged well’. I could stack a list of 20 games with JRPGs alone. But my purchase depends on whether they add some niche classics that are hard to find elsewhere (Xenogears, Vagrant Story,

My Pokemon Bank lapsed for a few months last year when I didn’t realize the credit card I used expired, but when I fixed the payment my data was still intact, so it worked just fine. I’m not sure that there’s a timeframe on that though.

As others have said, I actually think the Switch is very complementary to PC gaming. It’s just so much more comfortable to curl up with an indie game on the couch with Netflix in the background than sitting at a desk. I’ll still play graphics heavy (AC Origins, Doom), strategy (Civ, Divinity OS 2), or shooters /

I’m sure in his mind (and his father’s), “the housekeeper can’t say no.”

So having just finished Minit last week, I have some thoughts on its sales potential. I really enjoyed it, but I also understand that it’s specifically aimed at my childhood of playing Link’s Awakening obsessively like a very particular brand of cocaine. But outside of people with that singular game experience (and I

I agree, the deluge on the eshop is getting out of hand lately, but in addition to a lack of moderation a lot of that also seems to come down to the simplicity of the shop’s design and the lack of sections. PS4 definitely has a whole lot of shovelware, but outside of sales I rarely know it exists because it’s so easy

If it had come out in May or June - prior to the summer indie onslaught of Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, etc and not a week or two before Hyper Light Drifter and Undertale - I think I would’ve been much more excited to give it a shot. But as it is, I’m swimming in high quality indie games. Add that to the fact that I’m

...so I’m guessing there’s already a thriving corner of tumblr dedicated to what happens when Toad puts on a crown and becomes a sexy prince waifu.

To everyone wondering why VIII is missing - I’d bet money that it’s because if I remember correctly the version on Steam is just a fixed up version of the old PC release (yup, VIII came out on PC back in the day, as did VII), while VII and IX have both had PS4 versions recently that polished them up quite a bit.

“And now, one more thing for you Earthbound fans...

I’ve been slowly but surely replaying the middle FFs over the past couple of years now that they’re easier to access and play on modern systems via Steam and PS4 / Vita. I started with X and VII, then finished a slow play of XII last weekend and am about to wrap up IX this weekend (I play too many games concurrently).

I have such mixed feelings on the project. I loved the shit out of VII growing up, as it was my first FF and I played it for a disgusting amount of time. The world is amazing, and the possibility of exploring a more vibrant and fleshed-out version of that is incredibly exciting. HOWEVER, I think that Square’s recent

I’m right there with you. I’d mail SE my credit card. Hell, I’d even take a Tactics Advance Collection. I just need my fix of that sweet, sweet tactical action.
