For one, it’s not like he’s defending himself or others in a noble or good way, he’s willingly arming himself as he tries to get to treasure before armed mercenaries. He knows this shit is going to happen, so it’s not defending himself if he walks right into a gunfight. And it’s not like he’s doing anything

Hoping that Mike is doing well! Also hoping that a swell of donations will upgrade this goal from wheelchair to half of an Iron Man suit!

*Lie to Elena about what you’re doing (which includes murdering people in order to steal treasure from archeological sites)*
*she catches you because she’s a goddamn investigative journalist and you’re a moron*
*she’s angry for a bit but forgives you because she lacks standards*

Similar to Gaseous Clay’s comments, plenty of critics (professional and amateur) have pointed out that it’s becoming more and more difficult to align Drake’s carefree personality to his actions in those games - which, aside from climbing all over things, is usually gunning down entire armies singlehandedly. And yes,

[Quote that could happen at any point in any Uncharted story]

I had no idea these networks would be willing to broadcast a pathetic old man giving another a blowjob, but I suppose it's newsworthy.

One of my favorites, and a great suggestion for people who are into this kind of strategy. Definitely the first thing I thought of when I was playing the demo, but from the little I've played so far it feels more balanced than P4's weaknesses, which can sometimes feel a bit random or punishing.

I’m also not sure that Elon ‘Tesla is kind of a shitshow work / manufacturing environment’ Musk would be the right choice, although some kind of manufacturing could be a step in the right direction. Maybe he’ll transport his Boring Company dirt all the way from LA to Michigan to ‘disrupt’ them into bricks? That’s

I didn’t realize my constant internal screaming was leaking into the world. I’ll try to quiet it back down a bit.

Will do!

I guess that works too. I would just hope for a followup article that was like “if you like this battle system, play Bravely Default and these other games!” / “for a better interweaving story, try Live A Live or SaGa!” / “for a great handheld retro JRPG to play while binging Netflix, try DQ V-VIII on 3ds!”

That’s a good one, but it never hooked me like I thought it would. Great music and world concept though.

Any chance this Jason / Tim all-star partnership will result in an article about the best classic JRPGs to play instead of this game? (outside of the easy answers, like FFVI, which is always the right answer)

Oh sorry, I was referring to Square Enix as a whole, but I guess I should’ve specified. Knowing that the same team that put me through Bravely Default’s insanely repetitive endgame would then make a game with a very repetitive structure makes a lot of sense.

This is disappointing, but considering their weird missteps with Setsuna and the next one that nobody paid attention to, I’m not that surprised. So for those of us who have been dying for a JRPG to sink into that scratches both the gameplay and plot itches, any suggestions that might be similar to this outside of the

Weird how that works. I’ve been waiting for Disgaia 5 (a port of a niche game) to drop to $20 since launch, so I’d guess it’ll be a year or so before this gets down to $30.

In his defense, his priority on narrative quality aligns with mine, and his negative points on the Xenoblade games line up with my experience - their stories are boring cliches, their characters are flat, and they have a complete disrespect for the player’s time. From what I’ve read / heard so far, the complaints

Yeah, his best bro...Bradamir...Tutin. Yeah.

I’ve been playing around with a Dreamcast emulator for the past couple months to explore that weird, insane game catalog that I completely missed, and there are some amazingly unique game styles that kind of died there and should be revived - Crazy Taxi, Power Stone, Jet Set Radio, and more. So much vibrant creativity

Between Hollow Knight, 20xx, and now this, looks like I’ll be spending the rest of the summer in a 2d state of nirvana. Sorry, endless PS4 backlog.
