Patti mentions that Kevin basically summoned her from retirement the moment he said her name when asked who the Secretary of Defense was. And yeah, I would have loved to see Gladys too, but it would have just been another winking cameo in an episode full of them.

If the end of the episode consisted of a bunch of characters in Kevin's head clapping and saying "Congratulations!" like in Evangelion, I wouldn't even be mad.

Patty was Secretary of Defense, but God-loving Meg was VP. :)

Woman VP though! She may be a little insane, but dammit it's progress!

The most beautiful part of this entire series is that there exists a foley artist recreation of "Justin Theroux's massive penis being placed on a biometric sensor". What a time to be alive.

Well, Cuse's son helped write International Assassin and is coming back for next week's episode. Will that hold you over for now? ;)

Sageofthewise posted this on reddit which helped me at least: "Matt's dying of cancer. Nora just went off to likely die. Her husband, step son, father in law are all going to kill Kevin in hopes it will somehow fix their lives. Kevin's on board too. All these people in her life she loves and care about are so broken

I am crying so much. Why can't I stop?

I believe we have found the true successor to best IMDB credit, previously given to the "woman who urinates on herself". Finally, she can die. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm…

Well, Damon DID promise us more dong this season. Between this and American Gods, this truly is the Golden Age of penis.

Considering Shadow's boss, that would make sense.

Man, that dialogue isn't half bad. I'm actually having cognitive dissonance because this movie could actually be decent.

"kids die everyday! What's one more?"

Once again, I do feel bad for Nora constantly getting chewed out this season. But once again……it's 100% true. Although Kevin might have not been the best person to say it. But maybe this time she'll actually take it to heart. She definitely seemed more shook than the previous times.

What a risky episode. I'm in agreement about the pacing, but i'm also not sure what they really could have done other than put more wandering in there. Kevin Sr's outback adventure needed to be told, especially if he's gonna be in more of the season. The direction was flawless though, and that ending was

I'm still not entirely convinced that car engines don't have some sort of magic going on in them.

Yeah, I can't wait to get ahold of that final credits version of the Departure theme. It was just so damn majestic.

Not the OP, but Season 1 started off a bit rocky, which could factor into their grading criteria

The prevailing theme so far this season: Jesus fucking Christ, Kevin.
