He is fantastic in T&L.

In Georgia. North Carolina and Florida definitely don’t follow this pattern.

I hate to break it to you but speaking as a foreigner who’s lived here for about 10 years, half your country is trash.

Probably once it’s time to sign lucrative deals. She’s entertaining, I’ll give her that.

Spot on. It explains why even the left is puritanical in this country.

You’re right but at the same time, not gonna lie I’m kind of ok with keeping her around for the entertainment value alone.

That’s one person. It’s going to take way, way more than that.

Then again the only thing worse than no remorse is fake, performative remorse. Besides, it’s not like she’s a huge risk to society. She’s a scammer, sure but she’s pretty low on my list of people I’m worried will be returned to society.

Incel rapists? Melodramatic, much?

Yeah I’ve never celebrated it either. My parents (who had a long and happy marriage) never celebrated it either and my mom always thought it was an artificial nonsense holiday invented to make money. I have one ex who was into it and I went along for him but honestly I was kind of rolling my eyes internally the whole

Gee, can you think of a more expensive hobby to use as an example? How many people can afford to go skiing in this country, and grew up where skiing was a part of the culture?

I don’t see it as a bizarre superstition. I see it as understandable but still misplaced reaction, and yes there is a superstitious/talismanic element to it that’s typical of tightly wound Type A’s which I’m willing to best most scolds are. In times of crisis it’s normal to cling to our comforting beliefs/rituals and

There’s a lot of sanctimony, virtue-signalling and lack of empathy from the scolds’ side though, and an inability to put themselves in other people’s shoes.

I’m not uncomfortable at all I just think it’s tacky and opportunistic.

I always feel like a cynical grinch when I spot those types of companies that try to be so precious about their business and act like they’re some kind of moral crusaders when they’re doing it for the money just like anyone else. I’m like, am I the only one who can see through this garbage? I’m also really turned off

This.

Republicans don’t care about stuff like that, only Democrats do. That’s why there’s so much virtue-signalling and public shaming on the Liberal side but it doesn’t work on conservatives unless sponsors and donors start pulling out, then they react.

This. It’s also known to anyone who follows politics in Washington DC. What I don’t get is why so many progressives think he actually cares? I’m a leftie but the naiveté and earnestness of progressives and some Democrats kills me. Politics is chess, with blood.

It worked though, with the people it had to work with. It’s not like he was trying to get Democrats’ and progressives’ support and respect. He doesn’t give a shit about that.
