My “good” insurance company regularly makes “mistakes” in processing my claims that are hidden within nearly incomprehensible benefits statements. One needs some fairly substantial MS Excel and organizing skills to make sure you aren’t getting short-changed “accidentally.” Also, their website is designed very badly

That’s the thing, I think a lot of things brand themselves as Detroit-style when they are simply square deep dish pizzas. Jets does this. There is no official pizza regulating body, but to me true Detroit style is Buddy’s or Cloverleaf where they put the sauce on top of the cheese.

‘MURICA

Can’t eat too many Twinkies in pursuit of that goal.

Vermont Smoke and Cure … sells entire pepperoni sticks that need to be hand-sliced but do a beautiful job of curling up when baked.

Jets is probably the best chain around Michigan. There’s a local spot by me that has amazing NY-style pizza though so never actually go to Jets anymore.

I’m pre-embalmed for my early grave.

Standard non-grease cup pepperonis are one of my least favorite pizza ingredients. Grease cup pepperonis are my absolute favorite. One local/regional chain, Jets, actually offers both for some reason. You just need to know to order “bold” pepperoni if you want the good stuff.

My understanding has always been pepperoni will cup if it has a natural casing opposed to a synthetic one.

I have yet to taste anything with Velveeta in it that didn’t make me regret everything about my decision to buy it and bring it home. Although the saying “Velveeta is one molecule away from being plastic” may not really be true, it tastes true.

Imo, the best ‘martinis’ do. But you are correct, a martini is mixed from gin and vermouth and these should be called Velveeta vodka martinis. VVMs should be derided and those who drink them should be embarrassed (maybe publicly). I feel sorry for the bartenders.

I agree and unless a product is released to the consumer market so we can ALL try it, it should not be reviewed here to avoid these marketing stunts.

Mac & Cheese ice cream is trolling for marketing, but according to this site’s review, it’s actually good. So you never know when a marketing troll actually results in a good product.

Ignore all the big chains and look around for a smallish, one location place and you will not only get better quality food, you get service, choice and you support a local business. I order “special” sandwiches at a couple such places. I can order the sandwich with anything they have available, which is usually a lot.

When you buy a business you take on its liabilities as well as its assets.

There was also a lot of overplayed CRAP music in the 80s. Like every era. We just have memory holed it.

That’s different. That isn’t an Anti-Nazi thing. That’s an anti-complexity thing. I wouldn’t buy a German car as something to fix up and/or keep because they are legendary for being a giant pain in the rear to work on.
