“More and more, these people with a big supercar collection and a classic car collection, they were turning to their old 911 Porsches at the weekend to have a bit of fun. The supercars were getting wider and bigger, difficult to see out of, and they all had these switch gearchanges, and they just weren’t engaging

Not sure about the CX-5 but interestingly from 13-16MY, the Mazda3 DID have faux carbon fiber in those areas. On the 17-18MY refresh (16-18MY Rest of World), Mazda switched to Piano Black!!! I don’t know why, but a lot of color/material studio people in the auto industry right now are OBSESSED with the stuff.

Yeah. I doubt it will be as fun as a GTI, but I never thought the GTI was all that fun compared the Ford ST twins or the WRX. It’ll be neat to see a comparison between the 2 in the future. Probably will be still more on the lux side than the fun side compared to the GTI, I’m guesssing.

I LOVE the FiST so much. My wife and I are looking to have a family in the near future and everytime I started entertaining the idea of the FiST, she got concerned about it being able to baby...

That is so true!

To be fair though, the 2 cars are focused on 2 very different things. I cross shopped the WRX and 18MY Mazda3. The interiors of the 2 are night and day.

So fun fact, there are 3 EV categories: E1 - 0-1100 lbs, E2 - 1100-2200, and E3 - 2200+. Back when I was in college, my school attempted and set the E1 speed record a couple different times. First it was at 155 (averaged between a really cautious run and a 184 mph run). Then a couple of years later, we set it at

I’m in that boat too. I didn’t bother looking at the Veloster N not because of how good a car it is, but because I use the back seats of my sedan A LOT. The Veloster body style is a complete deal breaker for me.

Now if the i30 N (or if they made an Elantra GT N) came to the U.S....

HAHAHAHA

If anything, the name General Motors, is even more appropriate with electric cars. They don’t have engines, they have motors in them, so General Motors is a perfect name. Way better than something super pretentious and stupid sounding. They already have those names for Cadillac EVs...

I’m still there with you. No worries ;)

Oh you’d be surprised. My dad bought a Lariat Ranger and LOVES it. My parents’ garage is too small for an F150 (the Ranger barely makes it with about an inch to go) and none of us love driving vehicles that big anyways. For those types of people, who still want the bells and whistles, the mid-size trucks are there.

I just hope they don’t skip that and go straight to the massive, building sized guns...

Yup. Sadly, for me, the biggest reason was simply buying power. I can’t justify a $30k+ car at this time of my life. Heck, my Mazda 3 was a huge drain on the financials as is. I just hope that by the time I do have some buying power, there will still be some manuals around for me to look at buying...

I’m totally ok with splashes of color. As much as I hate the all black interior, I don’t like all-[insert color] interiors either. Contrast and splashes are my favorite. We need more of it in this world!

This drives me crazy! I’m pretty sick of all black interiors (It’s way too hot and it’s really boring in my opinion and I think aged, shiny leather looks terrible. I’m a hater), but it’s worse when the OEM gives some very pretty non-black leather interiors only for the dealer to never order the options. For example,

Agreed. They probably knew that they already had a RWD manual that worked with the 2.0T off the shelf, so development costs were probably far less too.

There are always special exceptions (I’d love me a manual M2) but even the M3/4 manual take rate is somewhere down in the 20's%. And the regular 3 series doesn’t even offer the manual anymore.

There’s a reason the S4 and 3 Series don’t even offer a manual transmission anymore. If Genesis did offer the manual in the V6, all of the “stupid Genesis” comments would have been about how it was too expensive and that they should have offered it on something more affordable. How do I know? It’s exactly the comments
