Aave? I'm old.

OMG me too. It's driving me crazy and I think about leaving but everything else is so amazing I don't know how I could. We have plans to start therapy about it but what if this is just how it is? I'm too young to go without much sex and I hate how it impacts my self esteem. And I feel like I'm going to do something

I hear what you’re saying but in my experience the vast majority of men watch porn. It’s hard to even do direct studies on porn because they can’t find a large enough sample of men who don’t. So saying its central to abusers is a bit of a correlation/causation loop. Most abusers are men/most men watch porn.

In my limited experience they’re not sedating people because it’s more expensive, takes longer, and recovery is longer, as well as adding risk. But my experience is limited to pre 15 weeks abortions, in a non-profit where many people have already paid over $500 for their procedure and waited two hours +.

I mean sure. She can decide that it’s Obama’s fault for all I care. And if we want to have a rational discussion about our president, we’re going to exclude opinions like that, because that's not how this works.

Are you seriously stating that cave porn inspired rape and mayhem? What the fuck are you even talking about?

Yes. In that they should be well regulated and legal

And if it's exploiting her pain to promote a misunderstanding of human sexuality, it's pretty gross. That's my reading of it. Porn isn't the reason she suffered. But I can understand if she finds it abhorrent and support her doing whatever she needs to.

Yes. Me and 259 other people at last count.

Actually, it’s more like taking away the jobs of lots of smart, valued people who are making their living doing it. Some of whom I know.

I'm sorry you're upset by other people's comments but mine has nothing to do with rape apology. Much like porn has nothing to do with rape.

Porn did not hurt her. This man hurt her, using porn. Like he did with any other tool. Porn is the tool. Not the crime.

Yes but you are a victim of the thing you're talking about. She isn't a victim of porn, any more than she's a victim of cars or roads or houses. She's a victim of a deranged man.

No. People have been raping and abducting women long before porn existed. If you want to argue that porn increases those crimes, go for it, but there are stats on it and they disagree with that.

Agreed with all you’ve said. And I still feel that in this culture, the fact that people are pretty ok with blatant women-hating says something. I think movement has been made in a big way on gay rights and we’re finally admitting that we’re not a post-racial culture but we still cannot seem to admit that gender is a

I feel like a person whose introduction to porn was their rapist abductor kind of doesn't have the most level starting point for a conversation about the subject. But maybe that's just me.

Thanks for the info! Would you say its usual? Do the employees encourage it?

It may not be unusual, just at the places I know about.

Yeah my experience is in a clinic where the cutoff is like 15 weeks and general is not an option. Iv sedation isn’t often and minimal sedation (Ativan) is not even pushed but is common. It’s a mix of manual and electric.

No more than any other woman and certainly less than many . We all experience harassment and misogyny. That’s my point - these words impact us all. I’m super fortunate that I’m in a better place to handle it than most.
