I want to give a little shout out to the CW’s the 100, the little show that could. It got lost on the CW due to all the Arrow-verse shows and rarely taken seriously because it was a CW show but at it’s best it featured some great storytelling, massive worldbuilding, and an amazing ability to have all sorts of…
I thought Wild Beasts were probably the best band of the decade, but they never seemed to move beyond fawning reviews for their albums followed by indifference. Was listening to Present Tense last night, came out in 2014 but it seems like just now everyone is catching up to it.

Well I think it was my favorite episode of the show so far. There is such an absence of tenderness in this show that, as short as that moment between Shiv and Kendall was, at the end, I felt sort of a relief. Jeremy Strong was great in that scene. Also, there’s something in the way he plays Kendall, it always seems…
GLOW is at least getting some Emmy love, so hopefully that will keep Netflix from canning it prematurely.
I’m going to download it immediately then walk around my apartment feeling important.
This entire comment is spot-on. Especially this:
Was wondering if the idea is that Logan/Kendall/Roman get rid of the news in the transitional period before she’s publicly named the successor. So she initially mollifies Tom with the position and then blood isn’t on her hands later.
I’m excited for more of the crass and absurd moments of the wealthy from last season, but this episode was great at setting everything up and I can’t wait. Snook was amazing, as was Strong(I wouldn’t be surprised if he gains back some of his venom to bite his father with by the end of the season).
The two paragraphs are back to back so it must be obvious, and maybe something is cleared up in the next few episodes, but is there something to the idea that Shiv’s whole plan is to ditch news and her immediate response coming out of the meeting was appointing Tom to the head of global broadcast news? It was probably…
This show needs more Kendall & Cousin Greg interaction! There wasn’t enough of it last season, and the banter between them over Greg’s procured park coke was a reminder of how tragic that is.
“she said she wanted to ditch news and papers” and then she told Tom she got him the head of the news network.
This show should be 1000x more popular than it is now.
He really didn’t have a storyline, but I want to give a shout-out to the late, great Ricky Jay. His narrator set the perfect tone, especially for the teaser trailer.
No mention of Aimee Mann’s amazing soundtrack that inspired the film? That made me a fan of hers for life.
Along with all the greats already listed, Rectify, Bates Motel, and Vice Principals.
Justified. We dug coal together.
I can only presume SUCCESSION snuck up on a lot of people including critics. Willa Paskin on SLATE did a complete reversal, admitted she was dead wrong in her initial assessment and last week came out with a ringing endorsement of the show and of course AV Club came through in the final minutes of the game. (Hey we…
