I honestly didn’t intend for that comment to turn into this.

Hey, one joke per post. The fuck. Some of us are trying to eat.

Serious talk, Jack Skellington is terrible, right? He’s a spoiled man-child who ruins Christmas because of his mid-life crisis, and has to be bailed out by Santa. What I’m saying is Jack is the villain in most Christmas movies.

That looks more like it got him in the knee than the wee knee

Just remember that Lebron dragged this same roster to the NBA finals.

Fucking bullshit. Of all the owners in all the world...

This rental art was clearly installed by the realtor. The Wasserman family has serious museum quality art that you wouldn’t leave up while showing the house. (From the Christie’s catalogue after Edie died; auction of what the kids didn’t keep):

Ever heard of dinner parties? Holiday meals with guests? Is the concept of hosting a group of people for dinner completely new to you?

I hate the patriots and cowboys completely and forever. By extension, I hate Sam Adams beer, Tony Romo as a commentator, Click and Clack, and both cities.  I view this as completely rational and will not seek the help my wife says I need.

Really? Every single other team in the league is so upset over this one instance of “unwritten rules broken” (*never* heard of the unwritten rule that you can’t sub out your starting pitcher after one batter because that’d be mean to the other team who stacked their lineup specifically to beat the guy they thought

This is like saying “be less poor!” It's not always possible.

When I need a “precise” measurement I just line up the tape starting at One (1).  For example, if I need to measure a 24-inch space, I start my mark at 1-inch, and make the other end at the 25th-inch.

This. Living in a city is probably more expensive than it really needs to be, but, uh, you don’t HAVE to live in one.

The looseness accounts for the clip itself. The clip is 1/16" as Joel mentioned so when you have it pushed against something, the clip is included in the measurement. When it’s pulling on something, the clip is not included in the measurement so there is a small gap. You can’t have the clip in a fixed position because

If you did as described, when you hooked it it would be 1/16" too short, because the tape would be to the outside of the hook, but the wood would only run to the inside of the hook, and the hook is 1/16" thick.

So this took me a while to grasp, too.

If you’re measuring the outside of something (your “hang the metal tab on something” scenario), you want to know the distance of the inside of the tab to the edge. If you’re measuring the inside of something, you want to know the distance from the outside of the tab.

But the tab has width.  So if it doesn’t move, one

I say screw cannon and tell a good story and we decide if its worth it or not.  I think people get too worked up over this stuff anyways and it would be a good shock to the system.

The NHL has been like this for decades. That stupid 4 minutes for a high sticking penalty if you bleed is an example. If its a penalty its a penalty whether dude gets hurt or not.
