Tape was exactly what I was thinking. Yeesh. The backup process, when they had it, probably took a literal day.

At $10 per violation capped at $500, no company would comply with this. It's cheaper to just pay the fine.

I’ve been doing that with Hertz for years. I haven't had to interact with anyone at the rental counter since probably 2002, and that's even with driving off in a Mercedes when I rented a midsize. Hertz is great, and I hope they make it out of this.

I don’t much believe this story either, but an SSL connection to a non-China based proxy would be all you need here, yeah? A chip like that wouldn’t send clear text straight to a server in Beijing.

What the... Are you some kind of wizard or something?? I did not know that existed. Thanks!

That’s exactly correct. If you hold websites accountable for what users post, every website will stop allowing users to post anything at all. The upshot is that it would pretty much kill all social media.

Yeah. This is a text book definition of opt-out. And given the subject, this should be corrected.

It begins with Zack, now the governor of California, atoning for closing a number of low-income schools by sending their students to the privileged halls of Bayside. As these new students adjust to the upper crust, Zack’s son, Mac, causes trouble in much the same way his dad did.

Coming to this a bit late since I just saw this episode last night, but yes, exactly this. In the late episode in season one when the stormtroopers can’t shoot the can, I was hoping one would take the helmet off, then shoot the can first try and comment on the terrible optics in the helmet.

And the soundtrack better include the original Who’s Johnny by El DeBarge (in my defense, I had to look that up).

Herman Cain :D

I was interested to see how Michael Anthony responded. As I understand it, Eddie kicked him out pretty abruptly to give the spot to Wolfgang. I’d heard there was some bad blood there, but.. maybe not, or maybe they were able to work through that before Eddie’s death.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

This was a really good book. It was wild to learn how close Sega came to missing their now classic “SEGA!” ad campaign (in favor of something very, very stupid). And an alternate history where Sega has their shit together and we get the Sega Playstation, as originally intended, is a helluva thing to think about.

Also, t

Here’s hoping Microsoft can find more than seven voice actors for Elder Scrolls 6.

No, I’m there with you. I remember seeing it in the theater with several friends and being unbelievably bored. I was sure we’d sat through this thing for three hours or better and was dumbfounded to realize it was only 90 minutes.

Not gonna lie: just seeing Rick Moranis in the screenshot made me oddly happy.

Holy shit. Ogg. I'd forgotten that too, until you said it!

You made it halfway? Hats off.

Jesus Christ no kidding. This isn't a game review, it's an editorial, and it's still about 800 words too long.
