Eh, I could see my MIL buying these at a store, though probably not if they’re only on QVC. It combines two of her favorite things: shoes and Christmas. Middle class white people already buy ugly sweaters that they only bust out once a year for Christmas parties. Why not shoes?

I think you underestimate the power of gaudiness. This are so magically tacky that I would absolutely buy them and wear them every day during November and December — for multiple years — if they were Doc Martens (my feet are too wide for most boots designed for women’s feet, so I stick to Docs).

Why would anyone spend $169 on a pair of boots you’ll probably only wear once or twice? You could easily make a knockoff version of those boots for a fraction of the price by getting a cheap pair of black boots and going to Michaels. 

Those shoes look like the same material my grandparents had in their yard instead of grass.

Who pays for the rallies? Seriously, I want to know how much this shit costs, and who’s paying?

Every morning I wake up and look at all the alerts on my phone’s lock screen (I have the details turned off) and think “maybe, just maybe, this nonsense is over”. Narrator: it never is.

He just can’t quit her. 

What galls me is his refusal to cancel the rally because he would be “letting people down”. Never mind that he let people in the Florida Panhandle down by not monitoring the situation there, what with a Cat 4 hurricane coming through.
