Ok. You completely miss the point of movies, articles and comments. I actually feel bad for you as I know you feel shame and embarrassment for this poor excuse of a career.
Maybe it’s a joke for people with a sense of humor who do not try to overanalyze things.
Ok, you didn’t think the movie was funny. But what does that have to do with your awful excuse for an article? You entirely missed the point of the movie because you didn’t care to think about it. Instead you wanted to feel outrage.
I thought Deadspin said hot takes were over?
WTF are you feeding your cat that he only costs you $5 a month?
Except that the name is a direct reference to Keanu Reeves in John Wick, a movie about a man who violently avenges his puppy, who was killed by mobsters.
Counterpoint: Yes it was
They will do anything to save their pussy!
The joke is that Key and Peele made a movie that borrows of the premise of the movie John Wick starring Keanu Reeves where Keanu goes on a killing spree after his puppy is murdered is in itself ridiculous, and then made a spoof that substitutes a kitten for the puppy and name it Keanu.
Yeah, how is this even a tough question. PLUS, anyone with a passing familiarity with K&P know that much of their humor is based on their being multi racial and all the stuff that comes with that. This is a shitty fucking “article” that blatantly rips off the review of Guy Fieri’s Times Square resturant from a few…
That feels like a sick burn.
Have you ever watched Key and Peele? Do you get paid for this? Are you ripping off the review for the Guy Fieri Times Square restaurant? Am I doing it right?
I thought it was funny. Uneven, certainly, and lacking the sharpness and biting social commentary that characterize Key and Peele’s best sketches, but still pretty damned funny. And I’m not sure what “feels nothing like a movie” means. It felt like a movie to me.
The comments about blackness AND the joke is about the heteronormativity of feelings about a kitten, which is typically a “girl” animal
Haven’t seen it, but I will, because of widdle kittehs in it! There were lots of kittens and IRL, they all got adopted!
YEAH, JUST LOOK AT HIM!!!
The joke is supposed to be at the expense of action movies where the heroes are on a quest to save the damsel in distress. This movie is making fun of that by putting a cat in the damsel role and turning the hyper-masculine heroes into cat daddies.
Or is the joke that I shamelessly watched two hours of a bad movie because it stars a kitten?
Maybe it needed more fat-suit drag.
