I’m sure this movie is going to be bonkers, but seriously guys, watch Den of Thieves.

The funny thing about the criticism of Marisa Tomei is that she has SO proven herself in the years since. She could have won at least two more Oscars for the Wrestler and In the Bedroom, and deserved it for the first. (She also crushed it in Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead).

Agreed, and I’m of the understanding that after the early viewings they were forced to re-record most of Bane’s dialogue, and I still couldn’t understand a good bit of it. I shudder to think what the original version sounded like!

I think we all agree that the villains in Phase 2 overall sucked. But Phase 3 has been much better at offering different villains and antagonists (slight spoilers ahead), many of whom are still alive to cause more trouble in future movies. Watching Into the Spider-Verse and seeing the love everyone involved had for the core concepts of Spider-Man just made me even angrier with Marc Webb’s duology and just how cynical and empty it was.

I think DC could have still done a good job but the problem was they saw Avengers made all the money and thought “Why do in 5 movies what can be done in one over stuffed mess of a movie”. Combine that with not realizing the way of things and double down on Zack Snyder.

Exactly one game did inventory management right: Resident Evil 4. Partially because it made equipping yourself into a little puzzle, and partially because there wasn’t that much stuff in the world to pick up in the first place.
