Your loss, then! I'll enjoy my high-performance PC rig with Dolby Atmos on a 55" OLED. Honestly, I can't imagine not gaming on a nice comfy couch on a huge screen. I sit at a desk to work.

I live in a townhouse with a wife, 2 kids and a living room set up for gaming. But thanks for your input, and good luck with your future endeavours!
My PC is in my living room. My WiFi is a WiFi6 mesh network with gigabit service. I've got my LG C9 55" and it works a treat. The missus loves it too! I get so frustrated when I hear people who think they can't hook a PC up to a TV. I get 4K 120fps which is more than good enough for me!
Have you considered, oh I don’t know, hooking your PC into your TV? I’ve been doing this for years.
Seriously, who? And yet, somehow, his face also looks eminently punchable.
The art of the croquette is lost!
See, what’s funny is when I play them emulated on Switch, I DO notice the lag. The OSSC is just that brilliant here.
Sonic is a very specific outlier in a lot of ways. The amount of rainbow on those waterfalls in Green Hill Zone is terrible u der most display circumstances (see? I know what you’re talking about!). Amazingly, the OSSC does account for stuff like that. The waterfall is translucent. I’m in the middle of a big…
Again, you should try one of the higher-end solutions like the OSSC. They really do work a treat!
I respectfully disagree. Given the new low latency/gaming modes on these new screens (less than 6 ms, which if you can detect that, you’re a robot), the beauty of the OSSC is it introduces literally ZERO lag into the equation. I have no problems pulling off combos in Street Fighter 2 Turbo, or rescuing Baby Mario in…
Honestly, that's what the SD2SNES or Everdrive are for. I played throught the Secret of Mana 3 translation patch on real hardware a while ago. I also use it for Link to the Past Randomizer. You won't miss a thing - except poor quality and lag!
Have you looked into the Open Source Scan Converter (OSSC)? Not cheap at all, but man does it do incredible work for your old systems. I have a 55" LG C9, and use my RGB modded NES (admittedly, this was a custom job, which allows for SCART out), SNES, N64, and TurboDuo (which is also region modded) all through the…
1994. Full stop.
Totally! Been doing this for years. Here’s another protip: Have kids, then make them do it.
And it will be a bullshit mystery box that the hack has no idea how to solve. And there will be a deus ex machina to try to explain it. An the explanation will be shit and contradict everything we learned previously. And the ending will be absolutely horrible, because Abrams can't end anything we'll. And yet, he'll…
You may be an indie developer, but your business sense is sorely lacking. The mafia example is overly dramatic. It wouldn’t be in a store’s best financial interest to bail out a sinking ship like that, since they’d need to recoup that investment. Epic very explicitly said they’re spending money to make awareness of…
Holy cow there’s a lot of verbal diarrhea to unpack here. It has NOTHING to do with almost anything you talked about. Referees? Convenience (then not convenience)? There’s nothing “artificial” about exclusivity here. Epic (or Steam, or Microsoft, or EA, or...) paid money. Pure and simple. MANY studios have said that…
Fair, Netflix was a bad example. It's more the idea of I don't care what store furnishes me a product so long as there's nothing incredibly morally objectionable. In this case, Steam and Epic are equally evil, so again, what's the point of the hate?
But I don't pay for Steam. I also don't pay for Epic. Again, it's like being pissed I can't get a Whopper at McDonald's. Just go to the other store and buy the thing. Corporate loyalty is bullshit.
“And like, it’s just another store download. It’s not like you need to buy a new system. This complaint about Epic is so fucking weird to me. “Oh no, I have to download another small program and there might be a modicum of competition with Steam on PC. The HORROR!”
