This game seems to be occupying a weird place this console generation because it’s clearly a next gen game that has ironically had more development time for last gen, so we got this game that barely runs on the systems people have without dedicated versions for the consoles the game actually belongs on. The game as

“Cancel culture” is, whether those who use the phrase realize it or not, a conservative dogwhistle meant to minimize social justice concerns. “Cancel culture” isn’t a new phenomenon. People have been getting ostracized for their words and actions since literally forever. At one point in history a dude getting his dick

To be fair, it’s hard to expect anything of a movie by people who took easy to write for source material and decided it needed dimension-hopping American soldiers bolted right on top of it.

I believe they made a point to say that all of the post release dlc would be “free.” So no paid expansions. Just 15 different battle passes.

The early marketing never made it clear that this would be what people were getting. I think the understanding a lot of people had was that it’d be like brawler Ultimate Alliance, that’s what I thought anyway. I never in a million years would have imagined that squeenix would think that an Avengers grind simulator

Even if they got the sales figures up the ticket price has been ruined. They’re not getting the extra 2m copies they needed to sell at $60 for the game to hit black. They needed the game to be worth buying at launch.

If they thought this game would perform better than it did then they need to hire more gamers for executive positions. This game is the kind of boardroom generated bullshit that simply ticks a bunch of boxes in the hopes that gamers are stupid enough to buy a game just because it is all these things gamers are

Apparently you do need to look further because PS5/XSX are pretty comparable in performance.

Looks like even more cross-platform results are out and the PS5 loads significantly faster than the Xbox Series X and does *not* have perceptibly worse performance, only being noticeable in strict frame rate testing and not consistently in favor of the Xbox.

Considering the conversation prior was you making counterpoints to something I said about the PlayStation I don’t see why I would bring that up, what’s said for one is implied conversely to another.

You explained that certain features under current design philosophies may benefit, but to reiterate my point there are other considerations at work that may impact final performance. There are so many new technologies this generation that relying on a frankly modest GPU performance increase to predict performance is

You’re ignoring a whole point that I made about how Microsoft doesn’t have 1st party exclusives anymore.

I don’t see how that’s relevant.

Because it has 15-20% higher teraflops? It's well known that floating point operations don't have a 1:1 impact on performance.

My counterpoint was that the PC is its own platform. Not everyone has both an Xbox and a PlayStation either. The compulsion to buy an Xbox is lower because of the availability of the titles elsewhere, whereas a PlayStation doesn't necessarily promise the same thing. I'd be.makong the same point if all of Microsoft's

Hard disagree on the performance differential. We'll have to wait for benchmarks and graphical comparisons but the numbers don't paint a picture where the Xbox will be noticeably better in any way the average person can observe.

It’s probably one of those things that you’ll only notice for about a week and then you’ll get used to it. After that you’ll only notice when it’s gone and you’ll hate not having it.

For sure, if you’re already locked into a platform I don’t think there’s any reason to jump ship this generation. The only thing that should be driving your decision every generation is the games and if the PS5 doesn't have any games attractive enough to you to make you change then you'd be better off on the Xbox.

Better hardware? The Xbox isn’t meaningfully better than the PS5.

??? PC is its own platform with its own exclusives. If something is on both Xbox and PC it’s not an exclusive. There’s a separate phrase “console exclusive” that refers to what you’re talking about, but it’s a very specific marketing phrase.
