This right here 1000 times. I’m all for protecting new players for a little bit so they can learn the game, but once you’ve played it for awhile you need to get thrown into the real world with the rest of the players. The game needs to focus on balancing the teams so that each team has similar skill not every player

It is incredibly reductive to say that the reason players dislike SBMM is because they want to dominate in “unfair” matches. When I get better at something competitive I want to be better at it than other people. that’s not “unfair,” that’s how competition works. Obviously I don’t want all my matches to be easy and

Ehhh, SBMM in a lot of games feels like it is actually “force people to a 50% win rate”. Meaning if you have a good game or two (even if you just eek out two wins), it seems to want to put you in a “Get stomped” game.

tbh matchmaking is one of the worst developments of the gaming era. constant fights about ELO, unbelievable toxicity (“OMG DUDE I DERANKED BECAUSE OF MY TEAMMATE”), and long match times.

The best Arkanoid clone I ever played was on one of those discs.

What is it with Snake and ladders anyway?

I find it weird that people believes in the so called cancel culture. People using cancel culture as an excuse for not taking responsibility for one's actions.

Not everyone plays games on PS4 or Switch either, but that doesn’t mean we call FIFA 21 an Xbox exclusive.

I think you are somewhat missing the point. The series X controllers are not going to be $40 on launch and it will be up to the consumer to buy either batteries or a rechargeable pack. You highlighted how cheap it was for you to buy either of these items and I’d like to counter by saying why isn’t Microsoft taking on

That’s what happens when you have one company sign an exclusivity deal to develop Star Wars games (outside of Lego and mobile games) and they pour all their resources into developing one game at a time instead of having multiple studios develop their own style of game.

Counterpoint: That business strategy died off for a good reason because it was often prohibitively expensive and the PC market’s boom in the last decade is because companies started trying to allow more than rich enthusiasts to play their games.

Announcing that they’re revoking Blitzchung’s suspension would be a good start towards showing actual remorse.

This is how I felt after deleting Hearthstone after Blizzard’s Hong Kong fiasco. Now I realize how much I was playing it out of obligation to complete my daily quests and not out of enjoying the game.

This argument that you should support Blizzard to support the rank and file workers is bad one. The people making the decisions at the top need these employees more than the employees need Blizzard.

Wow. No mention at all of nearly every aspect of the game being monetized with microtransactions?

but they do work in the context of a storytelling machine that throws improbability wrenches at you.

I’m sorry, was that your dog I ran over the other day?

I think the fallacy is in assuming that FIFA/PES/Madden/2K/etc. are built to actually be realistic simulations. They’re not. They’re games that have the trappings of a simulation, but they’re still games.

That's Fahey you're getting a 'tude with. How dare you. He is a gift to the gaming community and to this site. Go back to your village, you peasant. Also, you're wrong. Fahey is right.

One could argue that they don’t now that Epic has joined the fray.
