I spent a couple of seasons working for the Forest Service right after college, and I can confirm they have a lot of cool trucks in their fleet - this is very similar (but a bit older) to the one I used to drive once or twice a week. A lot of folks I knew had decommissioned trucks in that color, and I was very jealous.

Yeah, the CX-9 doesn’t quite hit our sweet spots or price range (assuming we go new). What we need is a CX-5 and 3/4. Also, the 5 may end up being big enough, we’ve only scoped them from the outside - we’ve been putting off going to a dealership and really checking/test driving during the pandemic, but eventually

Definitely looking at those!

Yeah, the Niro’s definitely on our list (all three drivetrains). We probably wouldn’t be considering full-blown EVs, but in NJ, we get 5k on top of the federal rebate for EVs, which puts the fully electric Niro down below 30k, and that’s awfully tempting. Also, with the way we drive, we could probably fit in a pretty

You have my attention....

Nah, we need more space than we have in our 2006 Impreza, but not as much as a minivan. For the record, I’ve got nothing against minivans  and have very fond memories of the one my family had that I learned to drive on.

Yeah, I emailed a dealer nearby about the Rav4 Prime - it ticks a lot of our boxes despite them being a bit more than we want to pay (even with the $8,500 in incentives we’d get). NJ is one of the 12 states that will get them this year, but not until September, and I’ll bet they’ll go quickly.

I’m the submitter, and I definitely dig the TourX. I wish it got a bit better mileage though....

I got nothing against minivans (this was my submission), they’re just more car than we need, and they’re not particularly eco-friendly as far as ICE cars go. We’re looking at Foresters, which in my mind are equally as dull as a minivan, but get better mileage, are cheaper, and have ample room for our needs. The only

Extremely thrilled that you guys wrote up my query, and especially thrilled that there’s a weirdo JDM suggestion on there. I’m digging the profile of that Century.

One of my favorite sneaky things about this movie is how it uses the use of the “-wise” suffix to show the characters buying into this toxic boys’ club culture (with the best usage being Fran subtly mocking it). And damned if, every time I watch this movie (which is a lot), I don’t find myself using that phrasing for

Yeah, she definitely has her own agenda that has nothing to do (for much of the film) with the male protagonist.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one of my favorite movies. Don’t forget the strong racial elements of the film. Toontown stands in for not just artistic communities, but the many minority communities that were demolished to make way for the mid-century car-centric transformation of our cities. This happened in Los Angeles

Yet the movie would still somehow be two hours and 45 minutes long.

Charlie is the secret villain of the movie! She’s a shady civilian military contractor clearly bent on nefarious deeds. I think in the sequel she’ll probably be cast as the CEO of Raytheon.

Comic book movies these days are just two and a half hours of the protagonist jumping from a very high point and landing on one knee with their opposite arm flared out behind them.

And then Escape from New York ties a bow around the genre in the 80s.

If our worst fears come to fruition and deadspin gets shut down, the one silver lining will be that the last post that actually stuck to sports was one about the Browns being all Brownsy.

Back in the mid-90s my cousin had an all-denim wedding, which I, as a 16ish year old, was very pleased with. My mom and sister had a hard time finding denim dresses, though, and my dad couldn’t bear to wear jeans to a wedding. He wore khakis, as I recall.
