Thanks, it's great to be here :-)

Allow me to join you in the single, happy 31 year old's corner!! Every word of your comment applies to my life with one exception - cat instead of dog. Just went on a second date with a perfectly nice guy on the weekend but I have decided to call and tell him honestly that I'm just not interested in dating. I'm

Yeah it's pretty intense!! I thought about staying quiet but I always feel compelled to defend the happy single life :-)

It seems as though your life experience has led you to believe that 'single' equates to 'loveless'. That is a real shame. I am single and give and receive so much love from my family and friends. I'm not lonely - I'm really lucky. I hope you're able to address your issues and fears and experience non-romantic love

Growth doesn't happen while single? I beg to differ! Romantic relationships are not the be all and end all of love.

Thank you for replying! I'm glad to hear it's working out for you. I so badly want a kitty friend! I decided to ask - I will be so happy if I get approval. If I don't... well I guess I can still hide one. I'm obsessive about my clean house so I think I'd manage pretty well. Anyway fingers crossed he just says yes...

Anyone hidden a cat from a landlord? I'm considering it and would love advice.

I have three standouts - Radiohead in 2004, I was literally in the back row but the show was all I could think about for days. The next was TV on the Radio in 2008 in a really small venue. The third was this year - Bat For Lashes. She is AMAZING. I went on my own and was so happy I didn't miss out on the experience

People still buy CDs?!

Hi there, Sydneysider here :-)
My favourite venue for music is the Enmore Theatre - other good ones are the Metro Theatre, the Oxford Art Factory and the Hi Fi.
I also think you should take the ferry to Manly - check out the beach (the walk around the cove from Manly to Shelley beach is lovely) have something to eat and

This is the best thread ever. I'm happily single. All my nearest and dearest are couples (some with kids). I love them but sometimes it's so hard for us to relate to each other. Makes me happy to know I'm not alone in this difficulty. Thanks for sharing!!

I also have an English degree and am obsessed with Anne of Green Gables!! I re-read at least once a year. Also really love Anne of the Island. When I meet someone who says they love Anne - I know I've met a kindred spirit :-)

I remember that scene... Rather vividly!!

I'm with you. I clicked through for Toaster Strudel - and felt a bit embarrassed that I just looked at Lacey Chambers in her undies on my work computer :-(

It is terrifying how believable he is - it is to the point that only very occasionally do I stop and think 'good god that is a grown man'. I can't wait to watch this!!

Couldn't possibly recommend (your comment OR Mos Burger) more!!

I thought Downton Abbey did this well - during the war the girls often wore the same dresses. I first noticed cause I particularly loved one of Lady Sybil's that appeared quite a bit.

As a child I named my favourite stuffed gorilla 'Axl' after Axl Rose. My older brother tried to convince me the gorilla was called 'Turbo' but I emphatically disagreed and the gorilla remains 'Axl' to this day.

How timely! I'm not at work today. My workplace offers two 'work life balance' days per quarter. So today I'm watching Downton Abbey and making gingerbread ninjas and my boss knows I'm not sick and knows I'll be back tomorrow, rested and more motivated!

That's fair enough. I'm just proud of my lovely city :-)
