Cell service in Vietnam is a hell of a lot better than in the US.

Yeah, I’ve been a LeBron fan from the start, happily ignoring some of his more annoying qualities. But I’m done, this is absurd.

Came here to say this. Kemp seemed to show pretty impressive restraint in his argument. The umpire got his feelings hurt and was dying for him to turn around. Does MLB umpire training include anything about diffusing situations? If not, it should. If it does...can we see the umpires’ report cards?

Right? It’s like he was only turned on by the prospect of impregnating her. Creepy stuff.

Why not just hire some random person to pretend to be these guys? Were they contractually obligated to use their actual voice? Could they just have claimed technical problems? They could have still paid them even if they used a replacement.

Why would anyone write the following like this?

And to piggyback on my own comment...

I really don’t care about catching a ball at a game and probably would have given it away (unless it was potentially valuable for some reason). That said, who fucking cares about that kid? I’m sure he’ll be fine. It’s not like he punched him in the face.

I like his articles just fine, but they do usually seem to be accompanied by a lot of fawning in the comments that I don’t quite understand. I assume it’s the result of regional/generational influence that I’m just not familiar with.

Well, for one, because vaccines aren’t 100% effective, so the more people that have a disease, the higher the likelihood of coming into contact with people who have the disease and therefore the higher the likelihood that it spreads to vaccinated people.

I more or less agree. I think umpires are generally sensitive babies who think they are center of the world, but it is pretty crazy to think about someone only getting suspended for 1 day after throwing a tantrum like that at “work.”

I think you lose credibility by saying things like “supposed” advantage. When someone goes from being ranked around 200 one year to #1 another year, without even getting faster, that is clearly an advantage.

That’s a fair point. And if the argument for allowing transwomen athletes to compete against biological women athletes is that they have gone through so much shit that they deserve to just get a break for once to make up for it, that is logic that I can at least follow and would be more likely to get on board with.

Here is something I don’t understand, genuinely. This isn’t an attempt at a “gotcha.” I feel like I often hear “there is a difference between gender and sex!” said a lot when trying to explain transgender issues to people who don’t want to accept the idea of non-binary at all. But then, here, it seems like no

It certainly can (and often does), no argument here. But it doesn’t always.

Ok, sorry if in my attempt to be clear I was insensitive. That wasn’t my intention. However, in my defense, the headline says the same thing.

Not to mention, it’s not just “a league.” It’s the NCAA, which, for better or for worse, controls collegiate athletics in the US, impacting hundreds of thousands of student athletes each year.
