I don’t know, I kind of get it. If you’re in a crowded city there are a lot of joggers out there not wearing masks- and when they pass you on the sidewalk, especially catching you unaware from behind, it’s pretty unnerving.

This was quite well written and I’m glad she shared her experience. Normally I’d go for maybe some snarky comment, but nope. I’m glad she got over it and her bout with it sounds awful and scary especially in March. I know one person who unfortunately died of it, a friend’s mom early on and it was a horrible

I haven’t ever watched Girls and don’t know her but for the things she says (that I see on this site), but I’m happy to hear she recovered and don’t wish it on anyone. This is a pretty important message to put out there and I hope the people who do follow her and were more ambivalent about it before are more serious

What tour was this? The first time I saw them was on The Crane Wife tour in a venue that isn’t around in Nashville anymore. I still want a print of the massive Crane Wife print that hung behind them on that tour. I think the last masterpiece in their discography was The King is Dead, but there are some songs on

Exactly. There was just a glut of music that opened up for me when I first head NMH, The Decemberists, Against Me!, and Every Time I Die in 2003. It is absurd how foundational those four bands were and probably none of them more so than the Decemberists. Hell, the second tattoo I ever got was a Youth and Beauty

Hard agree. The Decemberists are a really foundational group for a certain cohort of Millennial, and they really laid the basis for my tastes moving forward. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have gotten into early Sufjan and Bon Iver, but also because of them they let me embrace some more of the narrative driven pop

My first experience was catching them on the Colbert Report performing The Rake. I was immediately hooked. Saw them on tour a couple of years ago. I have to say one of my favorite shows to date. His singing has a different character live. Had purchased VIP tickets for this years show :(

If I was forced to choose a favorite band of all time I would probably go with The Decemberists. I fell in love with them after hearing California One/Youth and Beauty Brigade Shortly before the end of my sophmore year of high school in 2003. I had recently fallen hard for Neutral Milk Hotel but was deep in the punk

First, this show had Theo, who was violated by a guy who took pictures of her during sex without her consent, sent those pictures to other kids without her consent, but then turned out to be a far worse person because she faked aggravated rape, and suddenly those photos don’t seem as bad - their existence even saves

I agree, but let’s not forget that he’s a drug dealer. Guns are probably never far away from his hand and definitely is often a part of the solution to a problem. It just occurred to me that his anger about going to give DNA at a police station was super risky in his mind (he may have even said so in his telephone

Personally, I think if it had been, say, a pick-up in a bar with no expectations of seeing each other again, I wouldn’t super care. If a gay friend asked me to have sex with him because he wanted to see what sex with a woman was like, I wouldn’t be upset. But if a man sought me out on a dating service, had several

I’m really torn on this. I don’t think Kwame was particularly wrong, and that girl and her hat were awful, but I don’t know how I’d feel if a gay man had sex with me as a sort of experiment. It’s a conundrum.

Nah, I don’t think you have to disclose every gender of every person you sleep with. But you should probably disclose if you exclusively sleep with one gender and are sleeping with that person (of an opposite gender) basically as an experiment to see if you can do it/because you currently feel unsafe with the gender

Using someone as an experiment, even for casual sex, is not a cool thing to do. Just because he isn’t trying to marry her doesn’t mean that he doesn’t owe her at least the respect of letting him know his intentions so she could have made an informed decision about whether or not she wanted to be an “experiment.” If I

I just wish the show would show the heroes have some positive sexual experiences and not go from one horrible one to another.

She was awful but this was similar to the Terry’s thresome in Italy. It was all based on false premises and it’s understandable she feels used. She not really wrong in kicking him out. She’s wrong in basically everything else (even her hair).

I see a huge difference between “I think your behavior justifies me pointing a gun at you” and “I think your behavior justifies me letting you know I have a gun and am willing to point it at you should things continue escalating.” Pointing the gun is a large step closer to actually shooting.

I don’t see this hard line you apparently do between holding a gun in a way that’s meant to leave the impression you’ll use it and pointing it. Pointing it is more dangerous for an accidental discharge and may be a crime in certain jurisdictions where merely displaying it wouldn’t be, but the threat is pretty clear in

No, you’re right; Biagio was definitely in the right here.  Biagio is generally a dick but there’s no part of Bella’s behavior that was acceptable.  (Except the part where she ordered a pizza.)

From my female perspective, anyway, I am utterly baffled about the review’s take on Biagio. She broke into his home using a spare key (I count it as “breaking in” despite the key because she had no permission to use the key to enter his home). She was then obviously unstable to the point that he felt like he had to
