To be fair, I’ve only seen his movies and a handful of interviews so I probably shouldn’t have been so quick to say nice things about him.

Left Mary-Louise Parker, when she was 7 months pregnant with his kid, to shack up with Claire Danes; yeah, cool guy.

Between Galaxy Quest and Almost Famous, is the Golden God. I only saw AF once and was kind of put off by it, because it seemed to want to put a warm glow on what was likely a vary unsavory scene. I should watch it again.

I love both those movies too, although I remember a review of “Almost Famous” by a veteran of those times, and he had a point that that the 1970s Rock scene was a little less savory than it was presented. A lot of coke and heroin rather than the light use of pot and acid as shown. And while they touched a little on

Sure, “I am a golden god” is memorable, but “And you can tell Rolling Stone magazine that my last words... were... *long pause* I’m on drugs!” is my favorite part. Especially because he goes back to it when “I dig music” gets a tepid response.

I am of the opinion (and it is not at all backed up by evidence or even a google search to check) that in the beginning she needed help polishing her songwriting so that the songs “worked”. I believe she had sole song writing credit on her final “country” albums from her early period (wrapping up with Speak Now).

How exciting, I have loved (1989, Lover) or really liked (Reputation) her last three albums, so I am looking forward to hearing this one.

It’s her e.e. cummings phase.

She’s been in the same relationship for about 4 years now. This joke isn't funny anymore.

Not the biggest fan of the phrase of “who, as she notes, co-wrote the bulk of the album.” TS has always had a writing credit on every song on her albums, but that kind of phrasing undermines that, highlighting a man’s contribution instead, which feels particularly unnecessary given that we’re already seeing some

I might be looking too much into it, but it seems really funny to me that she’s surprise dropping this on the same day Kanye is releasing a new album (supposedly). Regardless, I’m sure he’s going to take this as an affront, especially with him being in the throes of his mental illness at the moment

Yes, Taylor Swift is the only pop star to ever write about breakups.

The climate thing is true but I don't understand the logic leap to justify inaction.

This show, man.

Really feeling all the Clueless love around here! I love that Caroline points out the lack of villains, which is one of my favourite things about it. When those conversations about “what movie universe would you most want to live in” come up I always think Clueless, because nothing bad really happens in its world. The

A lot of Clueless articles this week because it's the 25th anniversary.

I don’t think Austen says much of anything “unironically”.

I was furious* that Tom Bennett didn’t get a bunch of awards for that performance.

Sense and Sensibility is so gorgeous, and Alan Rickman breaks my heart every time. Colonel Brandon is decidedly swoon worthy.

Holy shit, I was living in Calabasas during that 4 week rainstorm. I used to climb at Laguna Beach, and the enormous boulder there suddenly got rated WAY higher for skill level because all the holds got polished down. Same with some mountain bike trails; they went from craggy terraced steps to smooth, frictionless
