I think it just depends. There are connections that are mostly superficial and physical but deepen into that + romance. There are also connections where you’re talking all the time and find yourself immediately falling for how the person sees the world, where you can’t decide if you want to kiss or talk. And there are

I told a friend staying with me that we hand wash our nice knives. She’d run them under water and use her hands to pick at food bits and then call it clean.

How is that possible in the Bay Area? Did you get in years ago or do you have amazing luck?

Wow, United is charging for carry ons now?? That’s crazy. I guess Canada to the US still counts as international enough to get a carry on, but isn’t enough to get a free checked bag. Of course the last time I flew they insisted on gate checking my bag even though they let the three business men behind me on with their

I think quality temporary tattoos are great and I can’t wait for them to be more commonly used and would love for them to last for a month or two! Sometimes you want a more decorative tattoo but don’t want to commit for life. Like I’d totally do a Taylor Swift-esque spray of butterflies on my back for a beach vacation

Oh my GOD how is he going to write that dissertation?? Oh my god how horrifying, finishing editing my thesis in the next couple of days feels suddenly like a dramatically manageable task and comparatively I have my life together. WHAT. And to be slacking off like that when you have a BABY waiting for you???

Honestly, it sounds like you are in crisis. Your grandmother might not have fallen (yet), but you personally are in crisis. Does your mom realize how much your uncle is not helping? Why does she take his assurances at face value when you’ve told her how he doesn’t follow through and is making more work for you? (These

What would your mom do if you said you were in crisis? Because it sounds like you’re pretty much there. Have you asked her what she would do or if she has a plan? And to please do that NOW? Ugh how frustrating.

Oh wow fascinating! I wonder if it’s a regional difference. For example, my dad was in an arbitration the other day and relayed a story of how the mediator asked one attorney if she went by Miss or Mrs. And apparently everyone was just shocked and both sides were like “Uhhhhh obviously it’s Ms no one goes by Mrs/Miss

If you’re interested in the fine arts at all, my graduate methodologies seminar has a semester on questioning global art history. With ever increasing international perspectives and participation in the traditionally “western” (Although really we should be specific and say Western European/North American) academic/inst

Also, mat-leave positions are great for other workers! They’re an awesome option for taking on a role that’s a bit above where you are now with less risk for the hiring company. It’s so much easier to hire a replacement for 6-12 months than for 6-8 WEEKS. (Paid parental leave for 4 1/2 months is NOT generous, Google.)

So, parental leave is actually far more manageable for a company when you have extended leave - like 6 months or more. When it’s longer, it actually make sense to hire a mat-leave position. It’s temporary, sometimes part time instead of full time, but it keeps the ship on course and is a great way for people earlier

Yes! So I’m pretty sure there’s some Irish tradition or folklore about smelling roses foretelling the death of someone close to you. I did a little googling and didn’t see much beyond a brief mention on a funeral director (??) website.

I’d love a reading if you have time ☺️. I’m just finishing up my masters and it’s a been a tumultuous year and I feel worn down. But I’m finishing! And I have no idea what’s next, except, I fell hopelessly in love and I’m choosing to stay in Canada with him. But in two weeks I’ll be done with a very very difficult

Oh, what’s your perfume go-to? I love fancy perfumes. I recently got a bottle of English pear and freesia Jo Malone perfume and it’s perfectly light and summery.
