Sadly the consensus seems to be that the environments tread a lot of familiar ground - like, another poison swamp. On the upside, by virtue of the processing power, they'll surely be the most stunningly realized versions of those environments yet.

This was an interesting thing about it. The first of the series I played was Bloodborne, so at the time most of the conversation was still going on about Dark Souls 2 (Scholar had just released thereabouts). People were talking about it SO much and SO positively, that I had gotten the wrong impression that DS2 was the

I've been playing through DS1 for the first time in anticipation of this, and it has definitely been an adjustment not having the rally. Such a game-changing mechanic.

For real. @Jikeake needs to simmer down.

Is this your first time playing through Borderlands 2? If so, you're in for a real treat, because Tiny Tina's Dragon's Keep DLC is, no exaggeration, the greatest thing of all time.

Logarious is the first, and really only, major wall I hit in Bloodborne the first time through, not including the DLC. Watch his health closely, because if you can get in a visceral attack while he's hulking out, he won't get stronger or faster. He'll still incorporate his 2nd form moves, but at a much more tolerable

I just started playing it in earnest last night, though that's mostly to tide over this fever pitch of Dark Souls 3 excitement I'm suffering. I picked up the Prepare to Die edition for cheap on Steam sale ages ago, and I'd tried and died a couple times before, but this time I was actually having some fun with it. Even

I'm going for the season pass. 10 minutes of new footage every five months, plus at some point Sharlto wears a crazy fucking hat or something. Only nubs would pay as you go.

Threatening to shoot people in the street boosted his number. Imagine what following through would do!!

Ultimecia receives her big level bump when the party is actually level 100, so the best level to challenge her is 99. It's a very different fight then.

The Max Payne series never did much for me, but I loved Alan Wake and feel strongly that there should be a proper sequel.

Does Bravely Second have that town building mechanic from the first game, and if so, is it better? It was a fun, if odd, inclusion in the first game, but you complete the town so early in the game that well before the game's back half you've forgotten it was even a thing. Maybe that's just how it happened for me,

On the console front I will be playing more Rise of the Tomb Raider. It looks amazing, the action is really strong, and the inclusion of more actual tomb raiding is nice. I'm not sold on the crafting system, which has been expanded in this game to require more bits that have to be collected from the environments. It's

It's high on the list of games I would choose if I could somehow erase my memory and play them again for the first time.

People I trust who have been playing DS3 have said that while it is most certainly a Dark Souls game first, the combat owes a lot to Bloodborne. Especially in its pacing.

Fantastic episode.

At least I've got P.T. on my console.

Still riding a Bloodborne high, I had a hell of a time getting into Dark Souls 2. Just couldn't get a hang of the timing and was getting routinely stomped by the most basic enemies. I'm still fascinated by the series and am hoping that Dark Souls 3, which based on video at least does bring some of that Bloodborne feel

Yeah, I'm really hot for the new R&C reimagining as well, even though it won't score a lot of pure nostalgia points with me as I entered the series with Going Commando and never went back. Quality has varied across the series, of course, but I think it's always been pretty high. Even a game like Into the Nexus, which

I'm a Bloodborne fan first, hoping to become a Souls fan with DS3, so as for next steps I would sure love a sequel to Bloodborne. They've already done such great lore and world-building there, but there's still so much they can explore and expand.
