Sorry, we’re just at the backlash-to-the-backlash stage of the Internet cycle. We need to move through the backlash-to-the-backlash-to-the-backlash stage before we all wearily agree to an exhausted neutrality.

Or wasting time commenting about him, really
There was a time where I can say that I thought I hated him. I thought he was an absolute douchebag and yet....I can’t look away. I can watch Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives for hours...I am consumed by him. He is beautiful.
Daisy was exactly the direction I wanted them to go - more noisy, more weird, more experimental. But given where they started, it’s not surprising that some of their fans weren’t pleased.
I started listening to it when it came out too and realised I was doing it all wrong. I can only listen to Brand New from October to February when it gets dark ludicrously early in the evening and I have dark commutes every day. Putting them on in the daylight doesn’t work for me so I’m going to have to wait a few…
Yeah, I don’t get it. Daisy is actually my favorite BN album, with D&G a close second, but every article is proclaiming Science Fiction as the opus of their discography, and my first few listens have not yielded those same feelings.
Off the top of my head: every moment of the Archer’s Bows does it for me, but I love the drums on it; the amping up of Limousine; the rolling Dramamine-esque sound of Jesus Christ that hits into that “we all got wood and nails” section; all of Sowing Season too honestly that’s kind of the brand new I love the most…
Yup.
It’s fucking awesome.
I’m just not getting it. Same Logic is amazing, its everything, but it’s the beginning and the end of this album for me... nothing else takes off like a Brand New song should - its all of D&G’s mood with none of its terror.
I will ride for Daisy for the rest of my life. That album is awesome.
Love the new site!
